Onthe spindle of the upper inking cylinder Vpairsof.- levers -14 Vand 14a are pivoted. The -levers of each pair are vconnectedtogether by a spring 20 and areassoci'ated with allever 21 Vpivotallyfmountedon thepin 221secured to their aid,-be secured in position with the edges Y ofthe scraper element bearing firmly` against Y`the .inking cylinders.
By giving the inking cylinders vone complete revolution when Akthe `scraper in this f position, substantially the whole of the ink will be removed therefrom, the ink being collected upon the scraper element. The cleaning device may then be removed from the machine by rotating the rods 9 and 9a so as to release the handle members 10 and v10a from-engagement Vin the .lateral extensions of the slots 11 and 11a thus causing the projections 12 and 12a to move into the position shown in dotted Iline iirFigure 15* and subsequently sliding the rods linto the vposition shown in dotted line in Figures 1 and 2. The scraper element may 'then-be detached from the pins 5 on the frame member andmay be cleaned or thrown away.

3. Means for removing ink from the inking cylinders of a duplicating machine of the kind in which with a plurality of inking cylinders journalled in a frame there is associated a flexible stencil carrier secured in endless bands whereby the stencil is caused to travel over the inking cylinders comprising a scraper element in the form of a strip of iexible material, a rigid support for the scraper element, tubular guides on said rigid support, rods slidably mounted in said guides, arms on the ends of said rods adjacent to the ends of the rigid support adapted, when the rods are slid outwards in their guides, to engage some fixed portion of the duplicating machine and press the opposite edges of the scraper element against the inking cylinders, bayonet slots in the tubular guides, projections on the rods adapted to co-operate with said bayonet slots to permit the rods when slid outwards to be rotated about theirv axes to retain the rods in the said position and further arms on the rigid support adapted to extend between the inking cylinders of the duplicating machine and to resist rotational motion being imparted to the rigid support onsequent upon rotation of the inking cyliners.

Means for removing ink from the inking cylinders of a duplicating machine of the kind in which with a plurality of inking cylinders journalled in a frame there is associated a flexible stencil carrier secured to endless bands whereby the stencil is caused to travel over the inking cylinders comprising for supporting a flexible scraper element a frame member including a central portion and arms at each end extending at right angles from said central portion adapted to engage between the inking cylinders ofthe duplicating machine, guides on theV central portion of the frame member, rods slidably mounted in said guides, arms extending at right angles from said rods adapted when the rods are slid outward in their guides to engage some xed portion of the machine and press the opposite edgesof the scraper element into firm contact with the inking cylinders of the duplicating machine.
