Description

Aug. 9, 1932. R. JOHN DEVICE FOR WASHING OR TRE'TING PLATES Filed may 19. 1930 QSA Zt/fem? B06637116 JTL/ the post 32 as possible. As the table 22 rotates to change the direction of slant of the tray, the point 34 will rise and the chain 33 will then permit the tray to rotate with the rollers 29, 29a a certain distance. That is, as the point 34 rides, the chain 33 will permit it to lead or rotate forwardly to hold the chain taut. As the point 34 again lowers and the chain 33 becomes more nearly vertical, the point 34 will vbe brought back again to a position substantially Vunder the top nof the post 32. It will be seen, therefore, that the rollers 29, 29a tend to rotate the tray 10.- Such rotation is limited by the chain 33 but because of the raising and lowering of thepoint of attachment 34, such chain permits a certain amount of reciprocating rotary motionk of the tray. f
35`indicates a suitable drain pipe for the tray 10. Y
In the use of the device, a suiicient amount of solution is put in the tray to keep the plate substantially covered. The Wabbling motion given to the tray as above described keeps the plate covered with a relatively small amount of solution besides keeping the same in circulation. I have found that if the disc 22 is driven at the'rate of 22 rotationsper minute, satisfactory results may beobtained.
'While I have shownand described certain embodimentsV of my invention, it is to be understood that it is capable of manymodications. Changes, therefore in the construction and arrangement may be made without departing from the spiritv and scope of the invention disclosed in the appended claims, in which it is my intention to claim all novelty in' my invention as broadly as possible 1. `In a device of the character described,
a suitable support, a slanting tray mounted on the support by a universal joint, means for rotatively changing the direction of slant of the tray, said means comprising a plurality of supports rotatably mounted below the tray around the universal joint, one of said supports being higher than the other, whereby upon rotation ofsaid supports the direction of slant of the tray is rotatively changed, and a flexible anchorage for the tray, said flexible anchorage limiting rotation thereof, but permitting reciprocatory rotary movement of the tray. n L
2. Ina device of the character described, a slanting tray having a false bottom to provide a chamber beneath, means for circulating a fluid in the chamber below the false'bottom, lmeans for rotatively changing the direction of the slant of the tray, and means for simultaneously imparting a substantially horizontal oscillatory movement to the tray` While preventing lateral movementy of said tray. ,j 3.
In a device of the character described,
for the tray tov limit rotation-thereof but permit the change of direction of slant and also permit reciprocatory rotary movement of the tray.
In testimony whereof I afiX my signature.
` ROBERT JOHN.
