Abstract

423,366. Swimming-baths. RUSSEL, J., 19, Morton Gardens, Wallington, Surrey. July 31, 1933, No. 21440. [Class 26] [See also Group XXIII] A device designed to prevent the mingling of the water in a swimming-bath with water inflowing from a purification or heating plant, and which also may afford a means for cleansing the bottom and sides of the bath, comprises a screen or curtain d, Fig. 2, depending into the water in the bath, and adapted to be propelled from end to end of the bath by an electric &c. motor or by hydrostatic pressure created by the difference in level on either side of the screen. The screen is arranged in a frame e secured to a rectangular carrier f with uprights g which form bearing surfaces for rollers h of frames c, c<1>, Fig. 1, which have wheels b running on rails a on either side of the bath. The frame f can therefore rise and fall between the carriages according to the varying depth of the bath. Vertical and horizontal brushes or wipers q, r, s may be carried on the frame f whilst rollers w facilitate the travel of the frame. The brushes may be driven from the driving motor.
