The purpose of these bevels is to form clearance spacesat opposite ends of the strip 75 to facilitate gripping ci the end portieri of the section 16 for downward and then lateral pulling. The lower ed e of this strip 2G orrns a straight edge w ich guides the tearinv or o ninU operation of the envelope. so tIn ma ing the envelope it is observed that the portion 17 of the front wall 10 does not extend below the lower ends of the anels 12 ssumin that the flap 14 is swung own to the ilatposi- 85 tion illustrated in Figure 3 it is obvious that the fabric strip 19 is glued to the innerisurface of the part 16. Then the part 15 is swun up and fastened to the adjacent lower en portions of the anels 12 and 18. Next the 90 strip 20 is glu across the outer surface of the part 15 so that it will serve as a reinforcing member as well as a. straight edge for tearing purposes. By catching a hold of either end of the strip equipped section 16 95 and tearing crosswise on a line with the lower edge of the guide strip 20, it is obvious that the lower end portion of the 'envelope can be torn awa Without disrupting the contents of the enve ope, Incidentally in Figure 6 l 30 have shown the features 16 and 19partly torn and led back to indicate the manner in which tearing is accomplished for conveniently exposed the contents of the envelope.
It is thought that the description taken in conection wlth the drawings will enable a clear understanding of the invention to be had. Therefore, a more lengthy description is thought unnecessary. l
While the referred embodiment of the invention has been shown and described, it is to be understood that minor changes coming within the field of invention claimed may be resorted to if desired.

In an envelo e, a front wall provided at one end thereo with a flap having an adhesive a back Wall embodying overlapping panels iatly engaged by the e ge portion of said flap, an envelope opening stri between said Hap and the panel of said bac wall and positioned adjacent the point of connection of said flap with said front wall, and a reinforcing strip secured to the outer surface of said flap and havin a spaced lower edge in spaced parallel relation to one edge of said envelope opening strip, the end ortion of said reinforcin and guide strip ing extended an lar y in from the sides of the envelope to acilitate tearing.
