The present invention relates to improvements in nursing bottle holders and has reference more particularly to an improvement over the nursing bottle holder disclosed in my prior Patent No. 1,692,098, November 20,

A further object is to provide a nursing bottle holder, whereby the bottle is supported in the proper tilted position for use by the child while taking nourishment therefrom, means being provided for suspending the bottle in a tilted position from the top of the carriage.

A further object is to provide a nursing bottle holder wherein means is provided for supporting the bottle in any vertical adjustin g position in a positive and eflicient manner.

titill a further object is to provide a nursing bottle holder that can be readily and easily attached or detached from a nursing bottle, the same being so simple in construction, inexpensive, strong and durable, and rurther well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.

Other objects of the invention will become apparent as the nature of the invention proceeds and when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.

In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this application and wherein like reference characters designate like parts throughout the several views;

Figure 1 is a side elevation of the nursing bottle holder embodying my invention, showing the manner in which the same is suspended i'rom the top of a carriage.

Figure 2 is a rear end elevation of the device clamped around the nursing bottle.

Figure 3 is a detail perspective view of the 40 nursing bottle holder per se.

Figure 4 is a vertical sectional view through the suspension hook, showing themanner in which the suspension chain is secured in any vertically adjusted position.

1n the drawings, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral 1 designates generally my improved nursing bottle holder, the same being formed from a single piece of spring wire, so bent as to provide an intermediate bottle engaging loop 2. One end of the wire is disposed upwardly as at 3, and the upper end of this portion of the wire is bent at its free end to provide a suspension chain attaching eye 4.

The other end portion of the'wire is formed at'its' juncturewith the free end of the loop 2, with a laterally disposed U-shaped neck 5, from which extends upwardly, and in an in clined mannerthe arm 6, the free end of which is bent to form a finger engaging eye 7, as clearly disclosed in Figure '3.

The arm portion 3 is adapted to be disposed against the outer faceof the side of the U-shaped neck portion that is remote from the arm 3, whereby to lock the split loop or ring 2, in damping engagement around the bottle A, and the resiliency of the wire is such as to cause the arm portion 3 to be disposed within the bend formed at the juncture of the neck 5 with the loop 2, while the arm 6 crosses the arm 3 and is spaced therefrom, as clearly indicated in Figure 1. i

The loop or ring 2 is clamped about the body of the bottle rearwardly of the center thereof, so that the bottle will be supported in an inclined manner as shown in Figure 1. A suspension chain 8 is attached at its lower end to the eye 4 of the vertically disposed arm 3 and the upper portion of this chain is adapted to slide through the loop 9, formed on the lower end of a piece of wire 10, that is bent at its upper end to provide a suspen sion hook 11, and as is clearly shown in F igure 5, the lower portion of the loop 9 is relatively narrow to provide a restricted neck 12 for receiving one of the links of the chain 8, whereby to secure the same in any vertically adjusted position as indicated very clearly g5 in Figures 1 and 4:.

The suspension hook 10 is adapted to engage in between the reeds of a wicker carriage top B, in the manner as shown in Figure 1. An enlarged ring 13 is carried by the upper free end of the suspension chain 8 to provide a handle to actuate the same.

Whenever it is necessary to remove the bottle A from the holder, pressure is supplied on the finger engaging eye 7 whereby to force the arm 6 rearwardly away from the arm 3, so that the arm 3 will become disengaged from the neck portion 5 and thus the split ring or loop 2 can be readily removed from the bottle. It is also of course, to be understood that the

3 and 6 must be moved apart in lateral directions, due to the normal tendency of the arm 6 to extend across the arm 3 as shown in Figure 2, and the eyes 4: and 7 provide finger gripping portions to facilitate the actuation of the bottle holder in an easy and eflicient. manner.

The simplicity of my improved nursing bottle holder enables the same to be manufactured at a very low cost and furthermore by sliding the holder along the bottle, the latter may be tilted at any desired angle and furthermore, by vertically adjusting the suspension chain 8, the bottle may be raised or lowered to the desired height, Where a child within the carriage, may readily grasp the bottle, while taking nourishment therefrom.

While I have shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that various changes in the size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:

In a clamp of the class described, a single piece of Wire bent to provide an intermediate member encircling loop, one end of the wire being bent upwardly, the other end of the wire being formed at its juncture with the free end of the loop with a laterally disposed U-shaped neck, an arm extending upwardly in an inclined manner from said U-shaped neck, said first mentioned upwardly disposed end of the wire adapted to be disposed against the outer face of the U-shaped neck portion that is removed from said upstanding portion to lock the loop in clamping engagement around a member.
