This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in ornaments and the primary object of this invention is to pro vide an ornament for decorative purposes comprising a body having a plurality of elongated cones or points projecting therefrom in different planes.

A primary object of the present invention is to provide an ornament of the character above mentioned wherein the body portion comprises a plurality of sections, so complenientarily constructed and arranged, as to utilize certain of the points or cones for securing the sections of the body portion in assembled relation.

A still further object of the invention is to provide an ornament of the character above mentioned wherein the body sections cooperate to provide a chamber or casing adapted to accommodate an illuminating element such as an incandescent bulb.

A still further object of the invention is in the provision of such an ornament wherein the parts of the ornament being flattened to provide a neat compass preparatory to shipment from one place to the other, or for storing purposes.

Further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from a study 80 of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein:

Figure 1 is a side elevational view of an ornament constructed in accordance with the present invention.

Figure 2 is a perspective view of the annular connecting member or section forming part of the body.

Figure 3 is a vertical sectional view taken through the ornament.

Figure 4 is a perspective view of one of the cone sections of the body of the ornament.

Referring more in detail to the drawings, 5 and 6 indicates the upper and lower sections of the body, 7 the annular intermediate or connecting section of the body, and 8 the cone or point. The body section, and the cone are all preferably made of the same material, either of metal, paper or any other suitable material.

' Each of the sections 5 and 6 is frusto conical and provided with series of staggered openings 8, 9 provided in the periphery thereof and openings 10 and 11 in the truncated apex thereof.

The annular intermediate or connector sec tion 7 is provided with a plurality of circum ferentially spaced openings 12, which openings are arranged in pairs.

Connected to the upper and lower edges of the sections or connectors 7 between adjacent pairs of openings 12, and through the medium of webs 13 are

In assembling the parts referred to, the upper and lower sections 5 and 6 have their largest end in confronting relation, and between said ends is arranged the annulus or intermediate section 7. Rings 14 aline with certain of the openings 8 in the top section 5, and certain of the cones 16 have their largest ends passed inwardly of the section 5 through the said openings 8 registering with the rings 14 thus providing means for securing

5 and 7 in assembled relation. Other of the cones 16 projecting from section 5 have their largest ends extending inwardly ofthe section 5 through the remaining one of the openings 8.

In like manner'lower section 6 is secured or coupled with section 7, certain of the cones 17 projecting from section 6 having their largest ends passing inwardly of the section through openings 9 and rings 15 registering therewith while the remainder of the cones 16 projecting from section 6 merely extend inwardly of the section at their largest end through the remainder of the openings 9.

For each opening 12 there is also provided a cone 16, the largest end of which extends radially inwardly of the annulus 7 through its opening 12.

Thus it will be seen that certain of the cones 16 project upwardly and outwardly from the top of the body structure, other of the cones 16 project downwardly and outwardly from the bottom of the body of the device while still others of the cones 16 provide an annular series of cones projecting radially from an intermediate portion of the body of the device.

Finally, a single cone 16 has its largest end extending inwardly of the top section 5 through the opening 10 provided in the truncated apex of the section 5. The opening 11 in the truncated apex of the lower section 6 accommodates an illuminating element such as an incandescent bulb shown in broken lines in Figure 3 and designated by the reference character 17.

Between the openings 12 of each pair of openings, the upper and lower edges of the annulus or intermediate section 7 are notched as at 18 to provide ventilating openings for the body of the device. I y

Even though I have herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that the same s susceptible of changes, modifications and improvements coming within-thescope of the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is: p

1. An ornamental device comprising a plurality of body sections, a plurality of cones, means for detachably securing said cones to said body sections, said means including means for utilizing certain of said cones for securing said body section in assembled relation.

2. An ornamental device comprising upper and lower body sections, an intermediate body section, a plurality of cones, means for securing said cones to said. body section, said means including means for utilizing certain of said cones for detachably connecting said upper and lower sections with saidintermediate section.

3. As a new article of manufacture con sisting of an ornamental form comprising identical upper and lower sections, an intermediate section, a plurality of cones radiating from each of said sections, means for 'detachably securing said cones to said sections, andv means for retaining said sections and said cone in assembled relation.

4. An ornament comprising a cone section and an annular section, each of said sections provided with apertured portions, certain of the apertures of one section registering with certain of the apertures of the other section,

a plurality of cones, each of which extends through a pair of registering apertures for securing the cone and section in assembled relation. I

5. An ornamental device of the character described comprising an upper section, a lower section, an intermediate section, said upper and lower sections being apertured, a.

series of rings secured to said intermediate sections for registry with certainof the apertures of said upper section, a second series of rings secured to said intermediate section for registry with certain of the apertures of said lower section, and a plurality of cones extending through the apertures of said upper and lower sections and the rings registering with said apertures for retaining the sections and cones in assembled relation.

6. An ornamental device of the character described comprising an upper section, a lower section, an intermediate section, said upper and lower sections being apertured, a series of rings secured to said intermediate sections for registry with certain of the apertures of said upper section, a second series of rings secured to said intermediate section for registry with certain of the apertures of said lower section, and a plurality of cones extending through the apertures of said upper and lower sections and the rings registering with said apertures for retaining the sections and cones in assembled relation, and additional cones projecting from each of said sections. 7. An ornamental vform comprising two sections one of which is provided with a circular series of apertures and the other of which is provided with a circular series of rings registering with said apertures and elements extending through the apertures and said rings for securing said sections in assembled relation.

8. An ornamental form comprising a conical section, an annular section, a plurality of elements projecting radiallywithrespect to the conical section, and means carried by the annular section engaging said elementsv for securing said sections in assembled relation.
