I This invention relates to bending and straightening devices adapted to straighten a frame or axle on a motor vehicle without removing the fenders, running boards or' 5 motor from the chassis, as well as to' straighten twisted and bent axles wlthout re moving the same from the auto or truck.
A further obj ect of the invention is to provide a device which j may be used to straighten bends or remove warps or twists from variousmetal elements, such as axles,
shafts, crank shafts, angle irons, channel and bar steel,'and pipe.
A further object is to provide a device in cluding a stress bar which maybe placed longitudinally of the member to be straightened and is equipped with a yoke which carries a post and jack screw, the stress bar being of' such construction as to be strong and rigid and permit of the yoke being extended in various directions from the bar to accommodate the bar to the work which must be performed. v
A still further object is to provide a straightening device in which the post carrying the jack'screw is adjustably secured in the legs thereof so that it can be moved to-.
ward or away from the stress bar to accom modate the device to various applications'to straighten a bent metal member.
"With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in certain novel. de-- tails of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter fully described and claimed, it being understood that. various modifications may be resorted to within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
