U ITED STATES PATENT OFFICE DANIEL R. RIVERS, OF CENTREVILLE, TENNESSEE.
IMPROVEMENT IN PEA -NUT CLEANERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 185,969., dated January 2, 1877 application filed April 18, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL R. RIVERS, of Oentreville, in the county of Hickman and State of Tennessee, have invented a new and Improved Screen, of which the following is a specification My invention consists of a hopper and perforated cylindrical sheet metal revolving screen, having longitudinal rows of large holes to let the stones and dirt out, said screen being designed for screening pea-nuts.
Figure l is a longitudinal sectional elevation of my improved screen, and Fig. 2 is a transverse section.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A is the perforated sheet-metal screen, arranged to turn on a horizontal shaft, B, in the ordinary way, in which I make holes 0 larger than the perforations for letting the stones and dirt out, said holes being arranged in rows, at suitable distances apart, around the shell of the screen.
This improved screen is designed for screening pea-nuts, and the holes 0 let the stones fall out, while the sand and the tine matters escape through the meshes.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent A pea-nut soourer, consisting of cylinder A, having rows of large holes 0 distributed longitudinally throughout the reticulated surface thereof, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
