Another object is to provide a box so constructed as to enable the prospective purchaser to examine the entire contents of the box without removing any article therefrom, thereby preventing soiling of the through handling.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings, the preferred form of the invention has been shown.
In said drawings:
Figure 1 is a front elevation showing the boxopen and displaying an article in the top thereof.
Figure 2 is a sideelevation.
Figure 3 is a section on line 3-3, Figure 2.
Figure 4: is a vertical section through the closed box taken from front to rear.

Referring to the figures by characters of reference, 1 designates the body of the box which can be made with a projecting shoulder 2 formed by extended portions of the bottom plate 3. The body is provided with outer wall panels 4 the upper edges of which terminate below the corresponding edges of the box body to form an exterior shoulder 5 extending continuouslyaround the box.

Thewalls 'ofthe body 6 have outer panels 7 attached thereto and projecting above body 6 to form a recess Sin which is'fastened a padded top panel 9. The back face of the bottomand cover portions of the box are hingedly connected inany suitable manner as by means of a fabric 10 affixed thereto. v
,Arranged within the body 1 of the box is a die-cut insert 11 having one or more open ings 12 so proportioned as to receive the article or articles to be displayed in the body portion. A'piece'of satin, silk or any other attractive material is extended loosely over the insert as shown at 13 and has its edgeportions glued to the'walls of the insert and to the inner surface of the adjacent portions of the body 1. The central slack portion of this covering is pressed through the opening 12 so as to be supported in the space surrounded by the insert, thereby to form a =Another die cut insert 15 s arranged with- 16 for the reception of an article or articles to be displayed. covering 17 .of an at} tractive fabric isplacedoverthis insert and has its edge portionssecured to the wallsjof theinsert 15. and to the inner surfacefoflthe cover 6.
