The primary purpose and object of my invention is to provide a therapeutic device for general use that may be used for the volatilizing of medicated substances for the treatment and prevention of contagious diseases.
The invention in its preferred embodiment consists of a one-piece body element having a hollow interior and having an enlarged cupsliaped recess disposed at the discharge outlet, into which a carrying agent may. be
placed. A removable plug is placeable within one side of the body element having electric terminals disposed therein and so arranged that the terminal ends will be spaced apart and terminate in close spaced relationship with the void disposed within the body element to thereby evaporate and volatilize substantially the full content of fluid placed therein. The device is adapted for being heated electrically upon its inner side.
The primary object of my invention isto provide a simple and inexpensive device adapted for being heated electrically and which may be used for the heating of fluids and liquids placed within a void that is disposed within the body element.
A further object of mg invention consists in providing a simple, e cient and inexpensive device that may be used for the treating and prevention of contagious diseases.
A still further object of my invention consists in providing a one-piece body element, made of porcelain, that may be used for electricallyk evaporating medicated fluids that may be placed Within the body of the device, or that may be placed within the carrying agent placed within the cup container.
With these and incidental objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combination of parts, the essential elements of which are set forthin the appended claims, and apreferred form of embodiment of which is hereinafter. shown with reference to the drawings which accompany and form a part of this speciiication.

Fig. 2 is a longitudinal, sectional, side view of the assembled device.
Fig. 3 is a perspective, end view of the electric plug and the terminals outwardly extending therefrom, the points of which are adapted for being placed in close spaced relationship with the inner portion of the base of the device.
Fig. 4 is a top, plan view of the mechanism illustrated in Fig. 1.
Like reference characters refer to like parts throughout the several views.
I preferably form the body l of my device of porcelain or other refractory material, or any suitable material, having a base 2 that is circular in contour and having a void 3 disposed within the body element. A cupshaped recess 4 is disposed at the upper end of the body element. A carrying agent, made of any suitable material, as felt or other fibrous or suitable material, is placeable within the cup-shaped top, the same being illustrated at 5. The carrying agent is placed within the cup, into which medicated substances may be placed for the treatment and prevention of contagious diseases. The fluid placed Within the void may also be medicated and when evaporated releases the medicated substance also.
' The contour of the body element is shaped to permit a diffusion of and to make the steam which is to come into contact with the carrying agent 5 possess the same qualities as is possessed by live or dry steam and therefore be able to absorb a greater amount of the medicate substance with which the carrying agent is permeated than is normally possible with the former types of va orizers. The body element has a ceiling 1 which is inclined upwardly toward the opening 4A that connects the main body portion with the cupshaped recess 4. Bends 2A and 2B are disposed upon the oppositely disposed sides of the body element. Humps 3A and 3B are also disposed upon the oppositely disposed sides of the body element with hump 3A above bend 2A and hump 3B below bend 3A. These bends and humps all have a two-fold purpose, namely, to allow and assist the user to grip the device with comfort, and also to present eater surface area to the steam that is being or is to be developed within the inside of the body element.
An'electric plug 6 is placeable within the lug receiving boss 7 that outwardly extends rom the rear of the body element. The plug is placed within the plug receiving boss and is cemented therein through the use of any bindin or cementitious material 8 to form a relat1vely tight, leak-proof connection between the plug and the boss.
An electric conductor 9 conducts electricity into the plug from a source of electric energy not here shown. A pair of electric terminals 10 and 11 inwardly extend from the plug and to which the electric conductor is attached. The electric terminals 10 and 11 are spaced apart sufficiently to form a gap and the ends 12 and 13 curve downward and are so shaped v that the ends may be placed in spaced .relationship with the inner surface 14 of the base of the body element. The inner surface 14 is referably made concave in order that the eat developed within the electric terminals will evaporate practically the entire contents of the fluid being placed within the body element. The electric conductor 9 preferably terminates in a threaded socket 15 to adapt the samev to a connection with thel ordinary lamp socket with which the same i's adapted for bein source o electric venergy is secured. While the form of mechanism herein shown and described'is admirably adapted to fulfill the objectsl primarily stated, it is to be understood that it is not intended to confine.
