This invention relates to improvements in devices for the care of hats when not lin use, and more particularly to means to occupy the interior of hats for supporting the crowns of the latter,` and for the purpose of retaining the shapes and preventing crushing of the hats from their own weight, or from that of 1 articles with which they come in contact.

The primary object of the inventionis to provide an exceedingly simple and eticientv form of internal support for hat crowns, which will be inexpensive to manufacture, and which will occupy a minimum space when not in use.

`Another object is to furnish a support which will accommodate itself to a great variety of sizes and shapes of hats without the employment of1 special skill on the part ofthe operator. y

A further object is to so construct the device that it may be expanded into operative condition by pneumatic pressure. Y

Another object is to provide a hatreceptacle designed to cooperate with special hat forms orsupports, each ofsaid supports being preferably removable from the hat box, and also being collapsible and ried in folded condition in a hand bag or the like, when desired.

With the foregoing objects outlined and with other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in the novel features `hereinafter described in detail, illustrated Vin the accom-V panying drawings, and more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
