Description

ASH-LEACHQ No.184,788. Y Patented Nov.28,1876.
ATTORN EYS NITED STATES PATENT QFFICE.
HENRY R. LOCKE AND SELEA LOCKE, OF FORT LITTLETON, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN ASH-LEACHES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 184,788, dated November 28, 1876 application filed October 26, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, HENRY R. LOGKE and SELEA LOCKE, of Fort Littleton, in the county of Fulton and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ash-Leaches; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification, and in which Figure 1 is a. perspective View of our improved ash-leach; and Figs. 2, 3, 4. and 5 are similar detached views thereof.
Corresponding parts in the several figures are designated by like letters.
This invention relates to a certain improvement in ashleaches; and it consists of means by which the parts are rendered readily detachable and the emptying of its contents facilitated, substantially as hereinafter more fully set forth.
In the annexed drawing, A refers to a hopper or funnel-shaped receptacle, consisting of four or more detachable parts, each hinged to legs or posts B B by hooked rods a a, connected to the said parts or sections by eyes or staples a a, and hooked into eyes or staples b b in the said posts.
By this construction the parts of the hopper or receptacle A can be readily swung apart and its contents emptied when desired, facilitating the same, and the said parts rendered detachable from their, legs or posts, making them portable.
The parts or sections of the receptacle A are held together at their lower ends by angular hooks and staples c c d d, substantially as shown. The connecting-pieces O O of the legs or posts B B are detachably connected to the latter by hooks c c, hooked into eyes (1 d in the said posts, to render the leach further portable.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The receptacle A, consisting of detachable parts or sections, hinged to legs or posts B B by hooked rods a a. and staples or eyes 12 b, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. The receptacle or hopper A, having the hooked rods a a, in combination with the legs or posts B B, having the staples b b d d, and connecting-pieces G G, having hooks c 0, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that we claim the foregoing as our own we hereunto affix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
