In machines for handling of superphosphate,potassium fertilizers and like material, which machines are carried against the heaps, excavate same and fill the material into bags 5 or sacks, the said machines have not been adapted to fill the sacks, weigh the same and close them by sewing, and there has been no room on the machine for the filled sacks to be handled successively and carried away clear of the machine.
The present invention relates to a wheeled excavating machine by which also sifting, disintegration by rollers, filling into sacks, weighing and closing of the filled sacks by sewing can be effected, while the sacks after being finished are passed on to a roller conveyor resting upon the ground, until the sacks can be removed and transported further by sack truck or sack conveyors.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the annexed drawings in which:

Figure 3 the machine in elevation seen from the right hand side of Figure 1.
The digging or excavating portion of the machine consists of a substantially vertical swingable excavator which is mounted upon a pivot A that is mounted on a transversely arranged elevated bridge B. The excavator is mounted on a frame C pivoted as indicated so that it can swing horizontally and is fun thermore supported and guided by wheels F and guiding rollers D engaging an arouate beam E on the front end of the car which carries the entire mechanism and has wheels X by means of which it can be moved.
The swinging of the excavator on its pivot is effected by means'of a pinion G meshing with a segmental rack H fixed on the bridge B which pinion through a suitable gearing is driven by an electric motor Y. When the excavator has reached its extreme position at either side, the motor is automatically reversed, whereafter the excavator swings back. During this swinging movement the excavator is in operation and scrapes off the material from the heap.
The excavator discharges the scraped oil 50 material upon a shaking table provided with chain U and sprockets V from the driving a sieve I. The coarse material passes between the rollers K where it is crushed and again united with 'thefine material which has passed through the sieve to the bottom of the frame carrying the same and from there into the hopper L.
At the bottom of the hopper are two slides M which are controlled by automatic closing devices which are governed by two weighing apparatus N arranged below the same in a well known manner. The filled and weighed sacks are loosened from the sack holders 0' and fall down upon the belt conveyor P on which they are carried to the sewing machine Q by means of which they are closed.
The sewing machine Q is arran ed adjustably on a frame B so that it can e fixed at various heights corresponding to the size of the sacks. After being sewn the sacks are passed from the conveyor P to a roller con- 1 veyor S, T, always in an upright position. The near end of the conveyor S, T slopes slightly and leads from the level of the conveyor P to the floor level, and the outer end T of the roller conveyor rests directly on the '15 floor.
The rolls of the roller conveyor closest to the belt conveyor P are driven by a sprocket shaft of the belt conveyor, the remainder of the rollers not being positively driven.
The sacks are pushed forwards 011 the roller conveyor by the succeeding sacks resting on the belt conveyor so that the roller conveyor is eventually completely occupied by sacks standing one behind the other in a row, the said conveyor thus forming a support for the filled sacks from which they can easily be removed by means of a common hand truck.
Instead of the roller conveyor a smooth steel plate or the like may be used.
The roller conveyor is arranged in such a manner that it can be swung upwardly into the vertical position when the machine is moved backwardly.
Having thus fully described my invention I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
A rollable machine for handling non-uniform granular material such as superphosphate in a pile comprising a wheeled frame work carrying an elevated bridge structure, said bridge having at its top a pivot for a horizontally swingable frame, an excavator supported on said pivot and arranged to remove superphosphate from the pile and carry it rearwardly, sifting and crushing means on the said frame fed by said excavator, a hop per arranged on the said elevated structure substantially directly below the said pivot and adapted to receive the material from the said sifting and crushing means and to deliver the same to sacks, and means arranged on the said framework for further handling 7 of the filled sacks.
