This invention relates to a display device,

. and more particularly to a revolving sign n which the movement thereof causes a complete image or advertisement to be produced. .Formerlyasigns of this type have consisted of a plate. which carries a complete symbol or advertisement on each face, said plate be? rotated slowly in order that the symbol or advertisement on one face may be noted by an observer before the next symbol or advertisement on the other face is presented. Some of the prior art devices have included a plurality of movable-slats in alignment,

each slat having upon one face a portion of an advertisement and onthe other face a portion of a different advertisement. Some form of operating mechanism is usually provided for c ausingcne faceof all the slats to be presented to an observer, thereby forming a complete symbol or advertisement; and then rotating the slat so'that the other face of each slat is presented and another complete symbol or advertisement formed. Sinceall to the other. It is evident that with the slow movement, there are certain positions in which the observer cannotread any advertisement. 7

It is, therefore, an object of this invention to provide a revolving sign of simple and inexpensive construction.

It is also an object of this invention to provide a device in which portions of indicia are alternately displayed in .a manner such that visually a complete image is produced.

In the illustrated embodiment of this in vention, there is shown in Figure '1 a con tainer'.--The,word container is here used in its generic sense, and it isnot the intention to limit its use to any specific structure. In this instance,- however,- the container comprisesan open box-like frame 1 which should have a'relatively narrow depth. Side members 2 of atranslucent 'material'such as glass are'held in position-against the corners of the box-like frame by means of angle corner in anylwelleknown manner. End members 4," preferably constructed of metal, are held in position between the box-like frame and the angle corner members. The container is sup axis;ash0rt 'shaft5 being secured to one of the end members and extending normally thereto and a hollow shaft 6 to the other end member and extending normally thereto.

The shaft'5 extends through a bearing 7 supported upon 'a pedestal 8 which isconnected to a base plate 9 by means of holding down bolts 10. The outer end of this shaft may be directly connected to any well-known power means such as an electric motor or may be driven through a belt 11 and pulley 12 which is secured to the shaft by means of a pin 13. The inner end of the hollow shaft 6 has an electric socket 14 secured thereto for receiving a light bulb 15 which: is thereby supported intermediate the translucent side members 2.of the container.
