MULTIPLE LABEL HOLDER Filed June 27, 1930 Fly-1 INVENTOR Balazzd 1. Fea'lany, BY
Patented Jan. 26, 1932 UNITE? rains PATENT OFFICE ROLAND A. FURLON'G, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE YAWMAN 80 ERBE MANUFACTURING COMPANY. NEW YORK Application filed June 27,
This invention relates to a multiple label i V holder suitable for use on visible index'trays,' drawers, and the like, where provision must be made for more than one label holder and also for a finger pull. The principal object of the invention is to provide an improved label holder for the purpose set forth which securing means such as rivets engaged therewith at other points. More particularly, the invention is concerned with a label holder for visible index trays which shall be suitable forsupporting two labels at opposite sides of the hand pull which is disposed centrally of the tray and which label holder shall be of simple and inexpensive construction being formed from a single stamping operation and adapted for convenient attachment to the tray by means of a single rivet engaged therewith adjacent each extremity and the hand pull whichis engaged therewith at the mid section.
The construction will be described more particularly in connection with the embodiment illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein: a
Figure 1 is aview in front elevation of a visible index tray having a hand pull disposed centrally thereof andone of the improved multiple label holders secured thereto. a a a Figure 2 isaview in plan of a part of the tray shown in Figure 1 and showing the securing means for the labelholder in section, parts being broken away for this purpose.
Figure 3 is a view in vertical section through the label'holder taken on the plane indicated by the line 33 of Figure l and looking in the direction of the arrows.
There is illustrated in the drawings the front piece a of a visible index tray but it Will MULTIPLE LABEL HOLDER 1930. Serial No. 464,164.
OF v13,0(LH]:lS'l.ElR, NEW YORK, A CORPORATION OF be understood that the improved label holder may be applied to other similar drawersor compartments for other purposes. To the tray a is fastened the improved label holder 6. In accordance with the invention this holder is made in a single stamping operation and formed to provide two distinct card receiving portions 6, 6 connected by a centrally disposed web Z2 and having at its opposite ends securing flanges 6 The label holder is of simple and inexpensive construction and|lends itself to ready attachment to the member with which it is to be associated. Thus it appears that rivets '0, 0, may pass through the terminal flanges the tra front a. Such anchorages would not be sufliizient without a positive attachment for the cbntral web 72 This is aifordedin accordance with the invention by the rivet d for the finger pull (5', through the web 6 and engaging the tray front a, for the joint purpose of retaining the label holder in position and attaching the finger pull to the tray. By reason of the construction and relation of parts resulting therefrom it will be evident that the fewest .number of parts possible are required for attachment of the label holder to the member with which it is associated. Two rivets 0, 0,
are the only special attachment members em- 1 ployed. Further, the resulting disposition of parts is quite attractiveand balanced be cause the finger pull cl lies centrally between the card receiving portions 6, b and no additional attaching means are exposed to label holder applied thereto and including a b and engage this rivet cl passlng 1 plurality of spaced label receiving portions and means to secure the label holder to the movable member consisting of single elements passing through the label holder adjacent each end and attached to the movable member and a finger pull for the slidable member passing through the label holder at a point between the card receiving portions and engaged with the movable member.
This specification signed this 24th day of June A. D. 1930.
