My invention relates to improvements in cosmetic boxes.

Pursuant to my' invention, the cosmetic 7 box provides for the enclosing of a cosmetic in powdered form by the provision of a perforated enclosing member, preferably of rubber'or like yieldable, moldable material, the material of the box itself serving as the bot- V tom, the material of the enclosing member be- 1 ing thickened at its periphery, and an annular member cooperating with the thickened peripheral portion of the enclosing member for removably retaining the thickened pe ripheral portion in efiective engagement with T5 the side wall of the box. 9

Preferably, the containing member is dimensioned whereby upon positioning of its peripheral portion within the box, the central portion of the containing member is sub- Z' T stantially taut. Upon applying a puif or equivalent to the outer face of the containing member, the powdered cosmetic is auto matically discharged through the perforations.

the box comprises two parts, either of circular, rectangular or other appropriate contour, and the box parts are hlnged to one another; or the box may be formed of a central portion in which both compartments are disposed, and covers hinged to such central part.

The upwardly discharging air pressure action arising under the pressure applied on the outer face of enclosing member, is e ective notwithstanding the reduction of the cosmetic content.

A two part box providing two compartments for powdered substances, each box art comprising a portion having a bulged ottom wall of desired peripheral contour, an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to onage the inner face of the side wall of said 'ox part, said enclosing member being provided with perforations disposed inwardly of its enlarged peripheral portion, an element for releasably retaining said enclosing member in osition relative to said side wall, said releasa le element being of stifiened material, said releasable element having a peripheral contour of'less dimension than the peripheral contour of the inner face of said side wall, said releasable element comprising an offset portion for imparting resiliency thereto, said offset portion engaging said enlarged peripheral portion of said enclosing member, and individual cover means for closing said box parts.

A two part box providing two compartments for powdered substances, each box part comprising a portion having a bulged bottom wall of desired peripheral contour, an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to engage the inner face of the side wall of said box part, said enclosing member being provided with perforations disposed inwardly of its enlarged portion, an element for releasably retaining said enclosing member in position relative to said side wall, said releasable element being of stiffened material, said releasable element having a peripheral contour of less dimension than the peripheral contour of the inner face of said side wall, said releasable member comprising an offset portion for imparting resiliency thereto, said offset portion engaging said enlarged peripheral portion of said enclosing member, and cover means hinged to a central body portion of the box for closing said box parts.

A two compartment box for separately enclosing powdered substances, each box part comprising a portion having a bulged bottom wall of desired peripheral contour, an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to engage the inner face of the side wall of said box part, said enclosing member being proided with perforations disposed inwardly of its enlarged peripheral portion, an element for releasably retaining said enclosing member in position relative to said side wall, said releasable element being of stiffened material, said releasable element having a peripheral contour of less dimension than the peripheral contour of the inner face of said side wall, said releasable member comprising an offset portion for imparting resiliency thereto, said offset portion engaging said enlarged peripheral portion of said enclosing member, and cover means hinged to a central body portion of the box for alternately closing the two compartments.

A two part box providing two compartments for powdered substances, each box part comprising a portion having a bulged bottom wall of desired peripheral contour, an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to engage the inner face of the side wall of said box part, said enclosing member being provided with perforations disposed inwardly of its enlarged peripheral portion, an element for releasably retaining said enclosing member in position relative to said side wall', said releasable element being of stiffened material,

said releasable element having a peripheral contour of less dimension than the peripheral contour of the inner face of said side wall, said releasable element comprising an offset portion for impartingresiliency thereto, said offset portion engaging said enlarged peripheral portion of said enclosing member, and mirrored cover means'for closing said box parts. i

A two part box providing two compartments for powdered substances, each box part comprising a portion having a bulged bottom wall of desired peripheral contour, an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to engage the inner face of the side wall of said box part, said enclosing member being provided with perforations disposed inwardly of its enlarged peripheral portion, an element for releasably retaining said enclosing member in position relative to said side wall, said releasable element being of stiffened material, said releasable element having a peripheral contour of less dimension than the peripheral contour of the inner face of said side wall, said releasable element comprising an offset portion for imparting resiliency thereto, said offset portion engaging said enlarged peripheral portion of said enclosing member, and mirrored individual cover means for closing said box parts.

9. A two part box providing two compartments for powdered substances, each box part comprising a portion having a bulged bottom wall of desired peripheral contour,

an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to engage the inner face of the side wall of said box part, said enclosing member being provided with perforations disposed inwardly of its enlarged portion, an element for releasably retaining said enclosing member in position relative to said side wall, said releasable element being of stiffened material, said releasable element having a peripheral contour of less dimension than the peripheral contour of the inner face of said side wall, said releasable member comprising an offset portion for imparting resiliency thereto, said offset portion engaging said enlarged peripheral portion of said enclosing member, and mirrored cover means hinged to a central body portion of the box for closing said box parts.

A two compartment box for separately enclosing powdered substances, each box part comprising a portion having a bulged bottom wall of desired peripheral contour, an enclosing member having its peripheral portion of enlarged dimensions arranged to engage the inner face of the side wall of said box part,
