Another important object of my invention isV the provision'of a veterinary. instrument for removing membrane from the teats of cows embodying a hollowfV sleeve .having a penetrating point for insertion in the teat and for .puncturing the membrane, the hollow sleeve Vhaving' adjacent to the penetrating point thereof a cutout slot provided with a cutting edge, with a slide rod mounted in the sleeve for forcing the edge of the punctured membrane against the cuttingedge ofthe slot, thereby permitting the cutting of the membrane as the sleeve is turned within the teat. Y A further object of my invention is the provision of novel means for associating the penetrating point with the hollow sleeve whereby different types of points can be used for dierent purposes and whereby the sleeve and point can be readily cleaned and kept in a sanitary condition after an operation.l
A still further object of my invention is to provide an improvedveterinary surgical instrument of the above character, which will be durable and eiiicient in use, one that will be simple and easy to manufacture, and one which can be placed upon the market at a reasonable cost.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more specifically described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which drawings:
