The cone diaphragm of my invention is capable of being made in onepiecy by the electrolytic method. I have described the conical shaped sound reproducing diaphragm as preferably made from beryllium, but I desire it to be understood that other light weight materials may be used, such as magnesium and aluminum.
While I have described my invention in one of its preferred embodiments, I desire that itbe understood that modifications may be made and that no limitations are intended other than are imposed by the scope of the appended claims. Y
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows:
1. A sound reproducing diaphragm comprising a conical shaped sheet of thin metallic material, ribs formed in said material at spaced intervals and wire members located in said ribs and extending beyond the peripheral edge of said diaphragm, and means connected to said wire members for centering said diaphragm.
2. A sound reproducing diaphragm comprising a conical shaped sheet of metallic material, means for mounting said'diapliragm from the apex thereof and imparting sound vibrations thereto, and wire members laid on the surface of said diaphragm and extending in the plane of said diaphragm beyond the peripheraledge thereof, a frame member and a connection between said frame member and the ends of said wire members for centering said diaphragm with respect to said frame member.
3. A sound reproducing diaphragm comprising a conical shaped sheet of metallic material, means for supporting said conical shaped sheet of material from the apex thereof and imparting sound vibrations thereto, said sheet of metallic material being depressed along the slant height thereof, and wire members extending in the plane of said diaphragm from the apex of said diaphragm along the depressions in the surface of the diaphragm and beyond the peripheral edge of the diaphragm, and means connected to said wire members for centering said diaphragm. 4.
