The invention has for one of its objects to provide a door holder which is strongand' durable while inexpensive to manufacture and one which maybe placed under low swung doors. The construction and arrange ment of the parts is such that the door holder may be used with the greatest facility and with the least inconvenience;
Another object of the invention is topro vide a door holder with aQflat even base .with rounded edges; which; offersno sharp contacts to scratchfioors, or to'tearany floor I covering upon which the door holder may be placed. The extent of the area of the base i 15' and the evenness of the contact of the: base with the floor afi'ords a max mum resistance against the floorfand greatly assists the door holder to resist the swinging pressure of the door.
Still another object of the'invention is i provide a. wire stem which is mounted on the base to give a constant upward pressure against the bottom of the door, thewirestem being preferably return bent to provide double wire surface at the door to afford ad'- 1 ditional resistance against movement o f the- The wire stem is preferably reslllent door. and is held resiliently upward byits connection with the base which prevents :a rigid contact of the wire stem with the door and avoids damage to aveneered surface of the i door. The wire stem may also be'bent relatively tothe base for purposes of adjustment. A further object of the invention is topro vide the wire stem witha coating to increase by adding" tothe efliciency of the doorjholder.
provide the base withv an opening in which the end of t-hewireistem may be pressed,- which permits the bodyofthe Wire stem to move closer to the base than would otherwise be the case; the opening. also serving as a" means for hanging the'door holder on "a key in thedoor, or on any hook or other member.
Additional objects of the invention will appear in the following specification in which i the preferred form of the invention described.
