IMPROVEMENT IN STOVE-PIPE THIMBLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 183,31 1, dated October 17, 1876; application filed April 6, 1876.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES M. LE COUNT, of Hartford, in the county of Washington, in the State of Wisconsin, have invented certain Improvements in Stove; Pipe Thimbles, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to provide a thimble for achimney, for a stove-pipe to enter. The thimble is made with the outside rim of metal, having an indentation around the hole in the same, for the iron thimble to be turned into, and for the cover of the thimble to shut into, and on the inner end of the thimble is an outward flare, to hold the same in the hole of the chimney.

A is the outside rim; B, the sheet-iron cylinder; 0, the indentation in the rim, over which the cylinder is turned; D, the outside flare in the cylinder, which holds it in the hole in the chimney; E, the cover of the opening in the thimble, which is let down over the hole in the thimble when the stove-pipe is out of same, and the flange of the cover fits into the indentation G; F, hinge by which cover' scribed.
