- IMPROVEMENT IN FOLDING CHAIRS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 182,850, dated October 3, 1876; application filed July 22, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK F.'PARKER, of Gardner, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Improved Folding Chair, of which the following is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figures 1 and 2 are vertical longitudinal sections of my improved chair, showing the same respectively in open and folded position.
Similar letters of referenceindicate corresponding parts.
The invention relates to an improved folding chair with arms that fold in strong and convenient manner with the other parts; and the invention consists in the improvement hereinafter described.
In the drawing, A represents the back section of my improvedfolding chair, which is pivoted to the intercrossing leg-section B, so as to form when opened the back legs, while the leg-section B serves as rear support for the back. The arms G are pivoted to the sides of the back-section, and extended below the front part of the leg-section, where they are connected by a cross-piece, D. The folding seat E connects the lateral front piece of legsection, and a lateralpiece of the back-section made with the arm extending below the seat,
and forming the front support of chair, but drawing the back forward by the link; also, that a chair has been made in which the link draws the upper end of the arm back; but
What I claim is- A folding chair with arms extending from the back to the upper ends of the front legs, to which they are connected by links secured to the brace uniting the lower extremities of said arms, as and for the purpose specified.
