CUT-OUT FIGURES CONSTITUTED BY STRIPS OR RODS Filed June 22 1929 J'oa 4wn Qma Mom baa,
*35 ient distances.
Patented Oct. 13, 1931 PATENT OFFICE JOAQUIN GASA MOMPOU, OF BARCELONA, SPAIN CUT OUT FIGURES CONSTITUTED BY STRIPS R RODS Application filed June 22,
Known already are the cut out figures obtained by varied and diverse manners, whether on cardboard, wood or metal sheet; but the applicant has contrived to obtain such figures by means of strips and rods set at the required distances from each other and as'this system of cut out figures is new, and the invention of the applicant himself it is for this reason the latter solicits that the exclusive property and exploitation of the same be guaranteed him by virtue of the patent to which the present descriptive specification refers.
The cut out figures constructed in the man- "ner indicated ofier the advantage of their easy construction and greater resistance than those at present in use, allowing besides a better circulation of the air through the same, without the danger of deterioration and destruction in the case of strong winds.
In its essentials the subject of the patent in question consists in constructing'cut out figures of any size and design with the strips or rods set at the required distances from each other and consolidated by adequate and convenient means.
. For the better comprehension of the subject of the patent referred to, it is accompanied by the design of the adjoining sheet in which in broad outlines is portrayed one of such figures which represents that of a bottle.
As is shown in the design indicated, the figure mentioned is constituted by a series of strips or rods 1, arranged parallel to each other downwards, duly separated at conven- It is to be noted that the spaces between the strips 1 are relatively 7 narrow, and preferably are of a width less than the width of the strips, whereby the spaces, while providing a means for the free circulation of air between the strips, will not materially destroy the configuration and appearance of the solid figure simulated by the device. In the concrete case represented in the design, the strips 1, are united for the formation of the figure required, by means of 1929. Serial No. 372,985.
cross-pieces 2, but any other convenient arrangement can be adopted.
Thus for instance the strips can be placed horizontally or diagonally.
As for the cut and size of the strips 1, it will be variable, as well as the material of which they are constructed, which may be wood, iron or other suitable material.
Furthermore the figures thus obtained can be painted and decorated in any appropriate form and in harmony with the subject represented in the figure itself, which in its turn can thus be variable.
As the case arises, the figures indicated can be mounted on columns, pedestals and in general on every kind of suitable support or be supported by arms there being variation in every case with regard to form, manner and method of the fixing of the figure in question.
Finally there will be variation as regards the complementary elements of the figures indicated and in general as far as it does not alter, change or modify the essentials of the patent described.
By the present patent is claimed:
1. A device of the character described comprising a plurality of strips disposed in parallel relation but slightly spaced from each other to provide air passages therebetween, means fixedly securing said strips toget;,.er and the marginal outer sides and ends of said assembled strips being cut out to simulate the contour of a figure.
2. A device of the character described comprising a plurality of strips disposed in par allel relation but slightly spaced from each other to provide air passages therebetween, other strips arranged at right angles to the first mentioned strips and fixedly securing the latter together, and the marginal outer sides and ends of said assembled strips being cut out to simulate the contour of a figure.
3. A device of the character described comprising a plurality of strips disposed in par- 99 allel relation slightly spaced from each other to provide air passages therebetWeen, means fixedly securing said strips t0gether',- the marginal outer sides and ends of said'as' sembled strips being cut out to simulate the contour of a figure, and the spaces betweenthe strips being of a, width less than the Width of the strips. v p s h 11(1i Witness whereofI have hereunto set my an v V i s w r OAQUIN GA SA MOMPQU;
