Thevalve is opened by the knob handle 16 fastened to the top of the sleeve being raised and for fixing the valve in its opened position a slight turn' of the knob handle is sufficient. As according to the invention the whole lifter unit is guided and suspended within the sleeve 15 and thus all parts of the same partake of the lifting movement when the sleeve 15 is being lifted by the knob handle 16, also'thevalve is lifted at the same time; while the rod gear is raised for the purpose of the valve being opened or lowered for the closure of the latter, all parts of the v valve rod gear move in direction parallel to each other.
Thevalve is closed by a further slight turn of the knob handle 16 by which movement the'projections 18 extending from the sleeve 15 are caused to coincide with the grooves 42 arranged within thelifter head shell 18 and toslide down in andguided by these grooves. As the lifter rod gear positively follows the descending movement during the closure, now the valve will'be closed in the waste tube, all partsof'thelifter rod gear likewise moving in directionsparallel to each other. Y I V i v In case the overflow canal is to be cleaned, the joint is loosened by the spindle 9 being pulled out whereupon the valve lifter toto take out the valve in its open positionf whereupon it is readily possible to clean the waste tube as well as the valve itself.

A valve lifter for baths, lavatories and V I the like, consisting of a lifting rod arranged within the overflow canal," a lifting arm pivotally linked tothe-bottom end of said liftin rod and susceptible of being fixedto-the sai rod in anangular position by means of a stop member displaceable in the lifting rod.

A valve lifter for baths, lavatories and the like, consisting of a lifting rod arranged within the overflow canal, a lifting arm pivotally linked to the bottomend of said lifting rod, a recess arranged'in the joint portion of the lifting arm and a lug displaceable in the lifting rod and susceptible of being slid into the said recess.-
3. A valve lifter for baths, lavatories and the like, consisting of a lifting rod arranged within the overflow canal, a lifting arm pivotally linked to the bottom end of said lifting rod, a recess arranged in the joint portion of the lifting arm and a lug displaceable in the lifting rod and susceptible of being slid into the said recess which lug is represented by a shell adjustable in height and fastened to the bottom end of a spindle guided within the lifting rod. 1
4. A valve lifter for baths, lavatories and the like, consisting of alifting rod arranged within the overflow canal, a lifting arm pivotally linked to the bottom end of said lifting rod, a lug fixing the joint connecting the arm to the rod, a spindle guided within the lifting rod'and extending outwards through the handle of the valve lifter, a sleeve rotatably mounted on the knob of the spindle and a lifter head provided with notches.
