One end 01": the shaft 112 projects outside the cylinder, and said exterior end has fixed thereon an arm 11?; carrying a cam roller 114. These rollers runin a grooved cam track 115, formed in a cam disc 116, the hub 117 of which is journaled loosely on the shaft 12 of the cylinder 10. A driving gear 123 is mounted on the hub 117 of the cam plate with a spline 124;, whereby the gear wheel 123 may be moved axially on thehubll? of the cam disc 116, but the cam disc and gear wheel rotate together. A clamping, screw 125 may be provided for holding the gear wheel in desired position on the hub. Gear wheel 123, inone of its positions, meshes with a driving gear 129 fixed on the shaft 119 of the cutting cylinder 118. lVhen the mechanism is seconnected, the cam disc 116 has a three-to-two forward rotation relatively to the cylinder 10, and thereby the respective impaling pins will be actuatedonly every second time "hat theypass the toldingpfi' position.
To effect consecutive actuation of the inipaling pins for each rotation of the cylinder 10 cam disc 116 is held stationary. The gear wheel 123 is slipped from full line to broken line position in Fig. 5, and thus passes out of mesh with its driving gear 129, and passes into mesh with the teeth of a holding detent member- 130, and thereby the cam plate 116 is held stationary, and the iinpalingpins are retracted on each rotation of the folding-oil cylinder 10.
If desired alternative folding-oil action may be effected by taking on and off a second folding blade for each of the folding devices' In such case, the cam track of the set-table device. will be kept in alinement with the guiding cam ring for the folding actuating devices. t is much speedier and smplcr to use the settable device, as the mere shifting of the hand lever changes all the folding devices and the entire folder from coll cting to non-collecting and vice versa. The manner or" operation of the foregoing described mechanism will be clearly unden meansfor causing the'foldingdevice to coa restated here. I 1
