Referring to the table or supporting frame 30 B, the same includes a top or platform 10, of suitable size, the lower surface of which is provided with depending marginal, front, rear and side trimming strips 11. Cross braces 12 are secured to the under surface 35 of the table platform 10, parallel and adjacent to each side thereof, each having a pair of depending legs 13 secured therein. The legs 13 at their lower ends are secured in cross pieces 15; the latter being connected in an H-shaped relation by a cross brace 16, as shown in Figure 1. The structure of the table may vary from the above, if found desirable.

At each side the table platform or top 10 is provided with a plurality of sockets 20, preferably of sheet metal construction, and of channel-shaped formation, secured as at 21 to the under-surface of the platform or top 10 between the braces 12 and the trimming 11, intersecting the latter so that the sockets open sidewise at each side edge of the table for detachably receiving the arms C and D.

The arms G and D are of analogous formation, except that they differ as to the length and the number of standards F, G and H which they may support. They are preferably of elongated formation, having ends 25 which fit detachably into the sockets 20 in a selected relation. The arms C, as shown in the drawings, are each adapted to support three of the vertical standards and the arms D are adapted to support two of the vertical standards. \Vhere the standards are supported on the arms C or D, the latter are enlarged, as shown at 26 in the drawings, for reinforcing purposes, and the arms between the standards may be suitably reduced or shaped in any approved and artistic relation.

As shown in the drawings the standards F G and H are of different sizes, and they are preferably fixed in suitable sockets 30 in the arms on which they are mounted, although their connection may be detachable if desired. The arms C and D, as they are successively positioned from front to rear, have the standards supported respectively thereon of successive y greater height from front to rear, for the obvious purpose of permitting a stepped display of merchandise supported on the top of the standards, and for suitable background building. Thus, as shown in Figure 1 of the drawings, the front arms C have three vertical standards, the two end standards F of which are of the same height, and the intermediate standard F being a little higher than the standards F. The intermediate arm D at each side of the table or frame, has a pair of standards G of the same height, but greater in height than any of the standards of the front arm C. The rear arm C at each side of the table has a pair of end standards H of the same height, and an intermediate standard H of greater height; the standa ds H and H being each of greater height than any of the other standards on the forward arms C or D confronting the same.

It is to be distinctly understood that the arrangement shown in the specific example of Figure 1 is purely arbitrary, and the arms C and D may be rearranged in any selected manner; it being understood that arms of various lengths other than that shown may be provided, having standards of various lengths, other than that shown; the fixturebeing provided with these detachable parts in order that it may be built up to best display merchandise in a particular size of window. For use on inside or outside corner windows an arcuated table platform may be provided in which the opposite sides have sockets angularly related at less or greater than 180, to angularly position the arms at opposite sides of the table.

The standards F, G and H at their upper ends are adapted to receive the cylindrical sockets 40 of various merchandise supporting elements or tops, several of which have been illustrated in the drawings, but which are susceptible of variation in design to accommodate particular articles of merchandise. The top L, as shown in Figure 1 consists of a straight bar 41 which has its socket 40 intermediate its ends, and which when assembled provides a T-shaped arrangement upon the standard on which mounted. These T-tops are frequently used for supporting many classes of merchandise.

A special type of top K for supporting shoes and other articles of footwear, in pairs on the standard may be provided, consisting of a cross bar 43 which has the socket 40 intermediate the ends thereof. The bar 43 at each end thereof, at opposite sides of the socket 40, is provided with an upstanding metal lug or disc 44 secured by a channel 45 in a riveted relation at 46; the channel 45 straddling the bar 43, as shown in Figures 7 and 8. The upstanding lugs 44 are apertured and each adapted to align with apertures in an adjustable lug 47 of a shoe supporting plate 48; the openings of the lugs 44 and 47 being adapted to receive a pivot member 49, having spring friction discs 50 at opposite sides of the lugs 44 and 47 to provide a friction joint therebetween, by means of which the footwear supporting plate 48 may be angularly adjusted to best display the article of footwear supported thereon. Of course, the sockets 40 may be turned axially on the standards on which supported, to angularly dispose the pair of shoes supported on each standard to best adv antage with respect to an observer.

A special display device is detachably associated with the table platform or top 10 at the rear thereof along the medial line of the table. It preferably comprises an upright (30, shown in Figures 1 and 4 of the drawings, of appropriate design, having a suitable foot (51 resting on top of the platform or table top 10, and having a depending L-shaped bracket 62, the lower horizontal portion (33 of which extends beneath the table top 10 and is provided with an adjustable screw clamp Olwhich may be adjusted into engagement with the bottom of the table 10 to clamp the upright 60 securely in a vertical position upon the table, as shown in Figure 4. The upright 60 at the top thereof is provided with a small article supporting stand or platform 70, which at the rear along the medial line thereof is provided with a short standard 71, having a cross bar 7 2 secured in a T-shaped relation at the upper end thereof. At its outer end the cross bar 72 has short standards 74 and 7 5, which may be provided with any approved detachable article supporting tops. In Figure 1 the standards 7 4 and 75 are shown as supporting the tops M, each including the socket 40 above mentioned, and a cross bar 41, the ends of which are doubled back at 78 and 79 over the bar 41*; this type of top being more adaptable for supporting halfhose and stockings.

From the foregoing description it is quite apparent that a novel combination fixture has been provided, the parts of which may be detachably connected in an association which Will admit of a Wide variety of set-ups, that a window trimmer is not confronted With the problem of arranging the articles of merchandise on single and non-connected standards, and may readily build up the fixture of a suitable pre-arranged back-ground which will not become easily disarranged during the positioning of the articles of merchandise thereon.

Various changes in the shape, size, and arrangement of parts may be made to the form of invention herein shown and described, Without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the claims.

I claim:

1. In a combination display fixture a table including a table top suitable for supporting a variety of articles of merchandise, a plurality of arms, means on the table top for horizontally supporting said arms at opposite sides of the table, standards vertically supported on said arms, means at the tops of the standards for supporting articles of merchandise, and means secured to the table top at the rear thereof between the sides for supporting articles of merchanside above the table top.

2. In a combination display fixture a table having a platform, means on the platform at opposite sides thereof providing side facing horizontal sockets, a plurality of arms of different lengths detachably supported horizontally in said sockets in laterally extending relation from each of the sides of said table, vertical uprights of different heights mounted on said arms, means on the uprights for supporting articles of merchandise, the uprights of the arms which are foremost being shortest, and the uprights of the arms successively being of greater height rearwardly, all of said arms being located in the same plane, and the uprights of arms of one length being staggered with respect to the uprights on the arms of another length at each side of the table.

3. In a combination display fixture a table including a top, means at opposite sides of the table for supporting articles of merchandise laterally of the table and above the plane thereof, an upright detachably secured to the table at the medial line thereof and at the rear thereof, a platform supported on said upright in a plane above the table platform first mentioned, a standard supported on the platform of said upright at the rear thereof, a cross beam supported on the last mentioned standard, and upright standards supported on the ends of the cross beam for supporting articles of merchandise thereon.
