i I "I I ATTORNEY Patented Sept. 8, 1931 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE SIDNEY H. BLAUNER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA DRESS PROTECTOR Application filed July 14, 1930. Serial No. 467,923.
What I claim is;
prises a protector consisting of a pair of circular segment sheets of any suitable mate- 1 rial, preferably cotton, linen or textile fabric,
the major circumferences of which sheets are sewn together, the ends and minor circumferences being open so that the protector can be placed over a garment hanger with the garment in place thereon.
The invention resides in those novel features of construction hereinafter described and pointed out in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure l is a side elevation of the inventiOn, the coat hanger being indicated in dotted lines and the upper portion of the garment also.
Figure 2 is a central cross section on the line 22 of Figure 1.
In the drawings, in which like numerals of reference indicate like parts in all of the figures, 11 represent the circular segment sheets which are sewn or otherwise secured permanently together along their major circumferences, as at 2, the minor circumferences 3 and the ends 4 being left separated or open. Centrally there is provided an eye let 5 which is so secured to the sheets 11 as to lie in a plane at substantially right angles to the planes containing the sheets 1-1. Directly below the eyelet 5, adjacent a snap fastener set 66, the purpose of which is to secure the protector in place on the hanger against being lost while the garments have been removed from the hanger for any purpose, as for trying them on a customer.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it is thought the complete construction and advantages of my invention will be readily understood by those skilled in the art.
1. A dress protector of the kind described comprislng a pair of circular ring segment sheets permanently secured together along the major circumferences and having an eyelet fastened at the approximate center thereof, and a snap fastening means adjacent the minor circumferences of the sheets at the approximate center thereof and connecting the sheets together.

In combination with a garment hanger having a dress receiving part and a hanging hook at the center thereof, a dress protector comprising a pair of circular ring segment sheets permanently secured together along their major circumferences, the sheets at their ends and along the minor circumferences being unattached or open, an eyelet at the approximate center of the secured edge and lying in a plane at right angles to those planes which contain the sheets, and means located on the sheets below the eyelet for securing the sheets together for the purposes specified.
to the minor circumferences of the sheets, is
SIDNEY H. BLAUNER.
