  • spinning centrifuges In the production of artificial-silk, socalled spinning centrifuges or spinning pots are employed for simultaneously collecting and twisting the thread obtained, the thread being laid upon. the wall of the centrifuge under the action' of centrifugal force and twisted simultaneously by the rotation of the centrifuge. Spinning pots of this kind are rotated at a very high speed. Careful centring of the pots is, therefore, essential in order to avoid vibration. Further, it is important that the spinning pots may be easily and quickly mounted upon their driving shafts and also removed therefrom.
