By this arrangement of'devices as' the crank shaft C revolves so will the cam 2, which is lixed thereon, re volve, and this 4revolving of the cam 2 will cause the lever 3 to rise and will allow it' by gravity to descend at the exact time that the picking or throwing of the shuttle necessitates to meet the requirements of the Checking actions of the swell lever 14 here- `ina"ft'er described.

As vwill be observed the lever 4 may have the finger or attachment 'l' which is secured to2` it by screws 7a,so adjusted that said projecting member 7 will at all times be in Contact with thespring 8 that is xed to 'theback finger 9 above described.

By the several parts being made adjustable, the said actions ofthe devices may be regulated to take place at the desiredtime and', under conditions which will prevent wear and deterioration as is hereinbefore stated.

y Provided the well known toothed wheel 10 and balance wheel 1l (shown by Fig. 3) which are carried by the crank shaft C are suciently far apart to permit the lever 3 to extend between them then the cam 2 may be mounted upon the crank shaft C between said two wheels.
A The arrangement of my devices as is hereinbefore described enables the employment of my cam. actuated Vdevices in connection with looms in which the crank shaft revolves in one direction to beat u the weit as well as in connection with o er looms wherein the crank shaft revolves in the opposite direction to beat up the'v weft since the actions of my cam are the same in both cases and its adjustment in position relative to the ,sweep with the cam, a second lever having a pro-Y ection engaging the lever cooperating with the cam, means for ivotally mounting the second lever on the slay board, a hat spring, means for securing said flat spring to the stop rod, and a second projection on the second lever adapted to contact with the flat 2.. evices for rchecking or arresting shuttles within the shuttle boxes of looms, the combination with the looin crank shaft, slay board, swell lever and lonvitudinal rod, of a eem mounted on the crank shaft and capable of adjustment, a pivoted lever cooperating vwith Vthe cam,y a second lever ivotelly mounted on the slay board and a. apted to engage the lever cooperating with the cam, a vertically projecting spring, stop rod in which the vertically projecting sprlng is adjustably fixed, a rejection engaging the spring and operate by the secon lever, a second spring extending horizontally from theA vertically proieeting spring to intervene between it and the proiection, and Ineens for securing the second s ring to actuate in coniunction with the swelv lever.
