This invention relates generally to supports and refers more particularly to means for supporting gas lighter assemblies and the like in ad'usted position relative to the gas burners o a stove.
Une of the essential objects of the invention is to provide-a support of the type described in which a bridge extending between the usuaLgas manifold and one of the usual 10 transversely extending burner supporting rods carries the lighter assembly.
Another object is to provide a support in which the means for conducting gas to the pilot burner of the lighter assembly con- 15 stitutes a part of the bridge aforesaid.
A further object is to provide a support in which one end of the bridge is movable longitudinall of the burner supporting rod whereby t e lighter assembly may be posigo tioned properly in a horizontal plane relative to the gas burners Another object is to provide a support in which portions of the bridge are constructed of relativel soft material that may be bent at or re-shape so that the lighter assembly may be adjusted roperly inan upright plane relative to the urners.
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists of certain novel teaso tures of construction, combinations and arrangements of arts, that will be hereinafter more fully pointed out in the appended claim. In the accompanying drawings:

Referring now to the drawings, 1 is a gas burner compartment of a suitable stove, 2 and 3 are the usual transversel extending burner casupporting rods termina y connected to the side walls of the com artment, a is a gas manifold in front of said compartment, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are conventional gas burners within the compartment and resting on the supporto ing rods, 8, 9, 10 and 11 are the usual mixing conducted by the tubes 16 to the housing escribed, and particularly tubes extending from the manifold to the burners, and 12 are valves controlling the supply'of gas from the manifold to the mixing tubesg In the present instance the burners are lighted automatically when the valves 12 are open, and this has been accomplished by providing a gas burner lighter assembly A in which 13 is a pilot burner, 14 is a tube for conducting gas from the manifoldd to the pilot burner, 15 is a cup-shaped housing on the pilot burner casing 13' and adapted to receive the flame issuing from the pilot-- burner, 16 are tubes projecting radially from the housing 15 and overlapplng lateral jets 17 in the main gas burners, 18 is a cover for the housing and 19 is a frustno com'cal shield on the housing below the tubes for preventing foreign matter such as fluids from entering the openings 20 and lateral orifice 21 to in the housing 15 and pilot burner 13 respectively. r
In use, when the valves 12 are opened, gas from the jets 17 in the main burners will be where it will be ignited by the flame from the pilot burner 13 whereupon the resulting flame will be conducted back through the tubes 16 to the upwardly opening jets 25 in the main burners andwill automatically light the same. a
With constructions of this kind it is desirable to have some means by which'the lighter assembly A may be positioned properly and adjusted relative to the burners and y it will be observed that 1 have accomplished this by providing the assembly with a su porting bridge 18 that extends betw een the manifold a and the rod 3. Preferably the tube 14 and pilot burner casing 13 constitute parts of this bridge, and the remaining parts comprise a rod27 and a supporting block 28. As shown, the rod 27 pro gects rearwardlyi from the pilot burner casing 13' in substantialalignment with the tube It and is slidably received in an openin 29 in the block 28. This block in turn is shdably mounted upon the rod 3 whereby the brid e B and li hter assembly A. may, as a unit, o adjusted orizontally relative to the burners. Any suit able means such as the set screws 30 and 31 may be used to hold the parts in such adjusted position. Moreover, the tube '14: and rod 27 are constructed of relatively soft metal so that they may be bent as at 32 and 33 re-. spectively to position the lighter assembly A properly in a vertical plane relative to the burners. Thus the lighter assembly is capable of substantially universal adjustment relative to the burners and such adjustment ma be easily and quickly efiected.
