This invention relates to storage racks and in particular to that type of rack adapted for the storage of heavy elongated objects.
An object'of the invention is to provide 5 a rack for such service affording a maximum capacityand requiring va minimum of occupied floorspace. y
Another object is to make the contents of the rack easily available and a further objectisto produce a rack, having the above qualifications, of light and permanent construction and reasonable cost. f In the accompanying drawings, `I have illustrated one adaptationi of my inventionV applied to the storage of gelatin hectograph duplicating rolls so thatfit maybe readily'comprehended, but it is to be understood that 1t 1s merely illustrative andthat the scope of the invention is by no means confined thereto.v In these drawings, which form a part of this application- I Figure 1 is an elevation of my invention. It should bef noted that the inner ends of the brackets are slightly lower than the outer.
As will be clear from inspection of the drawings, the radial arms 12-12 are made upof metal strips. The radial arms 9 9 maybe substantially identical with the radial arms`12-12 and a description of the arms 12-12 will suffice for the arms 9 9 as well. According'to therillustration embodying the present inventionl in which four radial arms 12 12 are provided, said arms are formed from four strips 12a 12a which are identical with each other. As noted above, each of the box members 1 4 is of triangular cross-section. According to the illustrated embodiment of the present invention, each of said box members `comprises' three sheets of metal indicated@ the Y twenty-four of such'rolls.

In a storage rack, in combination, a vertical spindle, a pair of collars encircling said spindle at regions spaced along said spindle, a plurality of radial arms connected to each of said collars, said radial arms connected to each of said collars being made up of metal strips of truncated V-shaped confor' mation, the bases of said V-shaped conformations being secured to their corresponding collars, adjacent legs of adjacent strips converging toWard one another away from said spindle, and elongated box members disposed parallel with said spindle, said box members being secured to extremities of said radial arms.
7 In a storage rack, in combination, a vertical spindle, a pair of collars encircling said z5 spindle at regions spaced along said spindle, a plurality of radial arms connected to each of said collars, said radial arms connected to each of said collars being made up of metal strips of truncated V-shaped conformation, the bases of said V-shaped conformations being secured to their corresponding collars, adJacent legs of adjacent strips converging toward one another away from said spindle, elongated box members disposed parallel with said spindle, said box members being secured to extremities of said radial arms, and inclined struts each having one extremity thereof connected to one of said collars and the other extremityl thereof connected to 4o an extremity of one of said radial arms.
