This invention relates to a mailbox holder, the general object of the invention being to provide an attractive device, with means for enabling the box to be swung to a position i) where mail can be placed in the same or removed therefrom without leaving a vehicle positioned on road adjacent the box, and a person using the box can removemail therefrom or place mail therein without stepping 15 onto the road or crossing the gutter at the 1 edge of the road.

It is to be understood that changes may be madein the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is 'A mail box holder comprising a base embedded inthe ground adjacent a roadway and having a socketfopening outwardly through the top surfacejthereof, vertical post hav ing the lower end embedded in the base adjacent the socket, eye bolts secured to the post, a L-shaped support having the vertical portion thereof extending through the eye bolts and received in the socket and bearing against the bottom Wall thereof, a brace con nected to the horizontal'portion of the support and to the vertical portion below the lowermost eye bolt; to prevent vertical displacement of the vertical portion from the socket and from the post, and brackets attaching'amail box to the horizontal portion.
