My invention relates to building construcg t1on and more partlcularly to corner connectlons for intersectlng metal frame members,
similar in some respects to that shown inmy prior Patents No. 1,723,991 of August 13 1929, and Nof1,747,4=15 of February 18, 1930. In building construction, the use of metal frames for door and window openings has become a very common expedient and possesses a number of distinct advantages over the wood, and wood and metal constructions heretofore utilized.
However, considerable difficulty has. been experienced in suitably joining the separate members constituting the opening frames at their intersections. A number of devices have been presented to the trade which are intended to obviate the objections heretofore experienced but the proposition of insuring against separation of rigid intersecting elements in a simple and economical manner has been heretofore unsolved.
One of the objects of my invention is to provide a corner connection for intersecting metal frame members which consists substantially of a bendable length of wire, which does not interfere with the interfitting features of the frame members, and yet will insure a positive securing means to prevent i separation of the frame members.
Another object of my invention is to pro vide a construction which will permit the use and reception of a short length of wood block for nailing purposes when the frames i are originally set. Obviously the setting of metal frame members presents similar difficulties to the workmen and the incorporation of a wood block near the upper extremity of the vertical members provides a necessary and useful nailing means.

I have shown a modified form of my invention in Fig. 4 which contemplates the use of the nail26 driven into the block 24* and bent over the registering margins of the members 18, 19 and 23.
It is thus seen that I have provided a simpleexpedient for joining two rigid intersecting metal frame members in avery simple and time-saving manner. The wires as stated are secured at the factory when the members are fabricated and the membersneed only be slid into position and the wires bent over to insure against separation either laterally or vertically.
I claim:
' 1.- In frame construction, the combination of vertical and horizontal intersectin'gchan nel-shaped frame members, one of said members having'tongues cut out of: its flanges andbent inwardly into the plane of the web of said member, a pair of angle plates securedto the other frame member, a member joining the free portions of said plates, said" member, positioned to lie alongside of said tongues, and a length of bendable metalcarried by i the first mentioned frame member and adapted to be bent over the plate-j oining member when the partsare in final position.
2. A corner connection for intersecting metal frame members comprising a vertically disposed, channel-shaped member, tongues formed out of the flanges thereof, said tongues being bent inwardly to lie parallel with the web of said member, a second channel-shaped member adapted to slidably interfit with said first member, and a strip of wire on said tongues. adapted to be bent overv tosecurely hold said frame members against separation.
3. A corner connection for intersecting metal frame members comprisingra vertically disposed-,channel shaped member, tongues formed out' of the flanges thereof, said tongues being bent inwardly to lie parallel w v. metalframemembers comprising a vert1cal-' with the web of said member, a second channelshapedmember adapted to slidably interfit with said first member, a metal strip joining" the flanges of said-secondmember, the-- top margin thereof being adapted to registerwith said tongues, and a strip of wire on said tongues adapted'to be bent over to securely hold said frame members against separationl V e 1 4.
