' This invention relates to an improved diseiigageable fastener which may be used in man places as for instance, on boats, in dwe 'ngs, 'etc. or connecting curtains and other articles and wherever two articles are to be disengageably connected together, the structure being such that the garts may be uickly engagedand disengage Another object of the invention is to provide a disengageablefastener for curtains or other objects wherein a slide fastener of the zipper type is used in association with certain members in. association with a curtain rod or other article.

1 A further object, more specifically, is to provide a disengag'eable fastener for curtains or other objects wherein members forming loops or encirclingmembers are connected to the article and these members disengageably secured together by a slide fastener of the zipper t e arranged so that the sliding member may disengaged from one part of the fastener so that a complete separation of the .encircling members maybe secured. Usually in slide fasteners of the zipper type there are two abutments or stops 25 at one end, and this structure may be used in the present invention, if desired. Where there are two stops 25, namel one on the encircling member 19 and anot er on theencircling member 20, slide 24 ma be moved down to these stops and then s eeve 13 rdtated. After this has been done rod 15 is lifted. out of the bracket and then the curtain 4, and encircling members 19 and 20, are moved to the left, as in Figure 2, until disengaged from rod 15.

However, preferabl made with only one a utment 25 and with a thin section 26 opposite abutment 25 whereby the slide fastener 24 may move off of section 26 so that member 20 is completely disengaged from the encircling member 19. As'illustrated in Figure 1, there is a rod at the bottom of curtain 4 and, if desired, a similar rod 15 at the upper part, whereby the curtain 4 may be completely removed at any time. In applying the curtain it is only necessa to move the encir members 19 .an until they encircle t e rod 15 near bracket 5. The slide 24 is then sli ped on to the flat or thin section 26, and t en on to the interlockin plates 22 and 23. After this has been done t e slide 24 may be quickly moved to the opposite bracket, whereupon all of the members 22' and 23 will be locked and the curtain secured to the rod 15. The same action takes place in-re d to rod 15'.
