The invention relates to a combined walkng stick, cigar and cigarette carrier and lighter. An object of the invention is to provide a convenient and novel means of carrying a supply of cigarettes and cigars and a lighter for the same in combination with a Walking stick.
One form of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. l is an elevation view ofthe entire device; Fig. 2 a vertical section of the entire device.
The cane l, is a two section hollow tube made of wood, metal or other substance. It is oined at 2 by a threaded portion 3. The upper end t and the tip 5 are also threaded. The cap 6 is threaded so as to screw on the upper end 4. @nc end of spring 7 is fastened to the tip 5, the other end of said s ring 7 is fastened to the lower side of a plate 8. A chain 11 is connected to the upper side of said plate 8, which in turn,

1. The combination, with a hollow walking stick provided with a removable head and shaft, of a spring adapted to be'placed in said walkin stick, and a movable plate, one end of said spring being fastened to the tip of said walking stick, the other end of said spring being fastened to the underside of said plate, a knob connected to the upper side of said plate to raise said plate against the tension of said spring.
2. In a hollow walking stick, a spring and a movable plate located in the hollow portion of said walking stick, one end of said spring being fastened to the tip of said walking stick, the other end of said spring being fastened to the'underside of said plate, a knob connected to the upper side of said plate to raise said plate against the tension of said spring.

connects to knob 9, the base diameter of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the hoilow inside portion of the walking stick. The upper end i has a removable lighter 10, inserted therein. If desired, the chain 9, may be directly connected to the bottom of the lighter 10, and the lighter used instead of knob 9 to raise plate 8. In this construction the cane may be made merely with a removable top.
The purpose of the invention is carried out as follows The upper portion of the cane is unscrewed from the lower portion, the knob 9 is pulled.
upwards, raising the cigarettes or cigars resting on plate 8 against the tension of spring 7. The cigarette or cigar is removed and the knob 9 is released, whereupon spring 7 draws plate 8 with the remaining cigarettes or cigars into the bottom of the walking stick. The cap 6 is unscrewed and the cigarette or cigar is lighted by lighter 10. Cap 6 is then replaced and the walking stick is then utilized in the conventional manner. 7
I desire it to be understood that my invention is not limited to the specific form of walking stick shown.
