Referring now to the drawings, 1 is the lamp casing; 2 is the reflector within the casin 3 is a bushing rigid with the reflector 2 flt t he axis thereof; and 4 is a bulb retainer 1930. Serial No. 461,537.
mounted for tilting movement within the bushing 3 and having bayonet slots 5 therein at diametrically opposite points thereof. Preferably the retainer 4 is also provided at diametrically opposite points with laterally projecting lugs 4 and 4" that engage longitudinally extending slots 8. and 3 respectively in the bushing 8' and prevent rotary move- 'ment of the retainer 4 relative to the bushing.

V The cam 16 is in the form of a disk having a square opening 21 receiving the square portion 17 of the rotating the form of a stamping and is provided at its Opposite ends with a. laterally projecting channel portion 22 and a laterally projecting flat portion 23 respectively. The channel portion 22 receives the cam 16, while the flat portion 23 is received within the inner end of the retainer 4 and is rigidly secured thereto. As shown, the channel portion 22 and cam 16 are held together by means of coil springs 24 and 25 respectively sleeved upon the rotary operating member 14, while the fiat portion 23 has an opening 26 receiving the electrical conductors 9 and 10 and constitutes an abutment for the inner end of the spring 11.
Thus with the construction as described, the bulb 6 may be tilted by merely rotating the rotary operating member 14. This causes the cam 16 to tilt the yoke 18, bulb retainer 4 and bulb 6 as a unit upwardly member and the yoke is in or downwardly relative to the axis of the lamp.
What I claim as my invention is:
1. In a lamp, a lamp casing, a reflector in the casing, a tiltable bulb retainer carried by the reflector, a rotary operating member accessible through the casing at a point in substantial alignment with the retainer, said member having a square portion and a notch, a cam on the square portion, a spring about the member between the casing and cam, a spring about the member between the cam and notch, and a yoke rigid with the retainer, riding the cam, and having a portion between one of the springs aforesaid and said cam.
2. In a lamp, a lamp casing, a reflector in the casing and a tiltable bulb retainer in the reflector, and a coil spring Within the retainer for holding the terminals of electrical conductors in contact with the terminals of a bulb in the retainer, a rotary operating member ournaled in the casing, a cam rigid With the rotary member, and a yoke having a laterally projecting portion secured to the retainer and constituting an abutment for the spring aforesaid and having another laterally projecting portion engaging said cam.
