An 0 en wire basket 21 is adapted to be remova ly supported on the tray 11 wherein is supported the dishes or other articles to be washed. At one end of the basket is provided a wire compartment 22, for supporting the silverware to be washed. The basket is of substantially rectangular configuration and is of slightly less dimensions than the tray 11. A pair of continuous countersunk pockets extend longitudinally of the basket at the sidesthereof, for the purpose of hold- .ing round or cylindrical shaped articles to be washed. One of the continuous pockets is indicated at 23 and is clearly illustrated in Figure 2 of the drawings. A plurality of rockable resilient arms 24 have one end coiled around the side 25 of the basket as indicated at 26 and the end of the coil is clinched to the basket as at 27. The coil 26 exertsa downward pressure upon the arm 24, and it normally rests in the position shown in Figure 2 of the drawings. When articles as indicated at 28 are placed in the pocket 23, the arms 24 may be moved to the position shown in dotted lines in Figure 2, whereby the resilient arms will abut against the article and hold them secured during the movement of the basket in the washing operation.
