The circular platform 14 is of a diameter materially smallerthan that of the circular stationary table top 4 and further this platform is formed with a central opening to accommodate the vertically disposed post 10;

A bushing 15 is fitted at its lower end withr in a socket provided in the upper end of the hollow standard 8 and the upper portionof the bushing is slidably fixed within an opening formed in the block 13.

A rim 16 is arranged onthe under side of the perimeterof the revoluble platform 14 and the edge portion of the platform provides means whereby persons seated at the table may grasp the same to turn the platform freely about the stationary post 10 in order to reach the desired dish or other article placed upon the platform without necessitating the aid of theother persons seated at the table. The platform is free to revolve about the post 10 by reason of the friction ball bearing 7 12 and the platform is spaced with respect to the table top so as not to interfere with the persons reaching the food placed upon the stationary table top 4 yet; the platform is within easy reach of the persons seated around the table.

The upper end portion of the post 10 forms a part of a fan attachment and is adapted to be associated, with the self serving table for keeping flies and other insects away from the table while food is being served.

A bracket 17 of substantially U-shaped formation is secured on the upper end of the post 10 and journaled through the upper ends of the arms of this U-shaped bracket,

For the purpose of actuating the fan, there is provided a hinged foot treadle 21 located adJacent one of the cross members of the cruciform shaped base 1. A cable 22 is con--, nected at its lower end to the free end of the hinged foot treadle and this cable extends upwardly through the opening 7 formed in the central portion of the stationary table top 4 through the hollow standard 8 and the opening in the central portion of the revoluble platform 14 and is connected at its upper" end to a crank 18.

treadle can operate the fan by stepping on the foot treadle and pressing the same downwardly whereupon the cable 22 will operate the crank 18 to effect the actuation of the cross arm and the fan blade carried by the outer end thereof.

The provision of a self-serving table of the above mentioned character will save considerable time and labor in serving the number of persons seated at the table. Furthermore the simplicity of my improved table enables the parts to be readily and easily assembled or disassembled and the device can be constructed ata very low cost and yet be strong and durable.

\Vhile I have shown the preferred embodi ment of my invention,it is to be understood that various changes in the size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claims.

Having thus described myinvention, what I claim as new is:

1. In a self serving table, a pedestal, a stationary table top secured thereon, a standard attached at its lower end on the top face of the table top at the center thereof, and a platform of smaller dimension than the stationary table top revolubly mounted onthe upper portion of the standard, a post extending vertically through the standard, the lower end of said post being secured in the upper end'of the pedestal and the upper end of the-post extending above the revoluble platform, a bracket secured on the upper end of the post, a crank supported in said bracket,

horizontally disposed arms connected with the crank for operation therewith, fan blades secured to the outer ends of said arms and extending downwardly below the outer edge of the revoluble platform and their respective inner edges slightly spaced from the peripheral edge of the said platform, and means gord actuating the 'crank to oscillate these la es.

3. In combination, a rotatable platform, a bracket, means for mounting the bracket above said platform, a crank rotatably mounted in said bracket and having horizontally disposed arms extending from opposite ends thereof, fan blades secured on the outer ends of said arms and extending downwardly therefrom, said fanblades at their lower free ends terminating at diametrically opposite sides of the platform and in spaced relation to the platform, the lower free ends of the 7 blades being arranged in a horizontal plane with the platform, andmeans for actuating said crank.
