IMPROVEMENT IN' SHOEMAKERS LAP-IRONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 179,780, dated July 11, 1876; application filed May 20, 1876.
- To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN A. FRICKER, of Indianapolis, Indiana, have invented a new and Improved Lap-Iron for Shoemakers; and I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, in .which Figure 1 is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a top View of my invention.
The object of my invention is to produce a cheap and convenient lap-iron for shoemakers; and it consists of a metallic block provided on its under surface 'with three grooves to fit over the legs of the user, as hereinafter set forth.
In the said drawings, A is a metal block,
having a face, a, for striking upon. The ends taper downward, as shown, and the under side has in it three grooves, O B B, to fit over the legs of the operator. \Vhen it is desired. the iron can be supported on both knees in the grooves B B; or one knee can be used in the groove C.
