This invention relates to a distributing box tor sewage disposal systems and an object of the invention-is to provide for selectively closing` the outlet conductors from a distributing box and permitting other outlet conductors to discharge to permit the earth to carry away excess discharge from the area closed.
Further objects of the invention are to provide, in a mannerashereinafter set forth,
a distributing box of thecharacter referred to, which is strong, compact and durable, l highly efficient for its intended purpose, and thoroughly reliable in its operation, which is very simple to manufacture and install,
and promoting economy in disposing of sewage.
T.Vith the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is disclosed an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modiiications may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit of the claims hereunto appended.

An inlet conductor 13 extends through the arcuate side wall 6, at a point equi-distailt from the ends thereoil and slightlylbelow tl e horizontal center of the wall. A plurality o longitudinally spaced outlet conductors are secured to and extend through the chorded wall 7 at a. lower lever than the inlet conductor The area of the outlet conductors 1A; are substantially the same as the inlet conductors 13 and are spaced from each other a greater distance than the diameters thereoi. The inner end of the outlet conductors 14 projects slightly beyond the inner face ot the wall 7 so as to provide Ator seating the valve to bepresently described.` The reservoir 5 is to be submerged below the surface of the earth 15, and connnunicating `therewith from the surface is a soil pipe`v 16, the lower end of which is anchored in the top wall The upper endA or. the soil pipe 16 is provided with a screw cap, 17, which is Hush with the surface of the ground and may be removable 'for purposes referred to. A pair ot bronze bushings 18, 19, are secured in the top wall 8 and the bottom wall S) resjiectively in alignment with each other. '.ihrough the openings in the bushings journalled a `ml ve stem 20, on which is rigidi)IY mounted a rectangular ,plate 21. The plate 21 is ot such length and on the head 2v2, the plate 21 vmaybe rotated bythe Valve stem 20, whereby adjacent pairs f of outlet conductors may be prevented from l discharging.- The plate 21 actsV in a-llrespects vsimilarly to the ordinary hat valve and con-V trols selectively the discharge rthrough the.VV outlet pipes as desired.
