This invention has to do with metal window sash, and is particularly concerned with the manner in which the frame members are connected together at the corners.
The primary object of the invention is to provide an improved corner connection which is tight, strong, rigid and inconspic'uous, and will permit the sash to be readily taken apart for glazing.
Otheil objects and advantages of the inven- .tion will be apparent to those skilled in the art upon a full understanding of the construction, arrangement and operation of the improved connection.
One form of the invention is presented herein for the purpose of exemplification, but it will of course be appreciated that the invention is susceptible of embodiment in other structurally modi-fied forms coming equally within the scope of the appended claims.

In the sash shown in the drawing, the adjoining ends of the frame members 10 and 11 are mitered and are interiorly reinforced by correspondingly mitered lining members 412 and 13 which are soldered or othewise se- 40 curely vheld in place. The lining members are of inwardly opening channel formationA and the mitered ends thereof are set inwardly a little from the mitered ends of the frame members whereby to insure a closed joint between the latter at 14.
' The frame members 10 and 11 are detachably fastened together by an L-shaped connecting member 15. One leg 16 of the connecting member consists o two laterally spaced parallel strips 17 which have inturned tures 23 in the arched back 20 of the leg 19.
lVhen the screws 21 are inserted through the apertures 22 into the apertures 23 and drawn up, the mitered end of the frame member 10 will be forced longitudinally against the mitered end of the frame member l1 to produce a closed joint therebetween, and the sides of the leg 19 will be wedged outwardly against the sides of the lining member 13 by the flattening action of the screws upon the arched back 20 of the leg, resulting in the production of a tight, strong and rigid corner connection which may be easily taken apart for reglazing by merely removing the screws In a plying the present invention to a sash, two o the L-shaped connecting members 15 are used. The two connecting members are preferably mounted in the ends of the top rail of the sash, with the attaching legs 19 thereof extending `downwardly from the ends of the top rail in parallel relation to each other for insertion within the upper ends of the Stiles ofthe sash, which arrangement permits a pane of glass to be inserted easily into the upwardly opening three-sided frame presented by the stiles and bottom rail upon removal of the top rail, and also serves to conceal the attaching screws 21 within the vertical guides in which the stiles of the sash are adapted to slide. It will be appreciated, however, that various other arrangements of the corner members might be employed. For instance, the sash might be made separable at diagonally opposite corners, in which case one of the connecting members would be permanently attached to one ofthe rails while the other connecting member would be permanently connected to one of the Stiles, withlthe atconnection "between adjoining ends of two tu- -leg o tachinglefs 19 of the members still, however,- in aralle relation to each other.
