Retraction of the screw ,28 from the groove 26;wi ll manifestly permit the stud 25 to be with drawn from the recess 23 and in this manner the type holder may be expeditiously detached from the spindle l7. it is also apparent that when the screw 28 run inwardly into engagement with the' "bottom of the groove 26' that the stud 25lmay be secured against movement-in any direction. low? ever, when the screw 28 is moved from engagement with the bottom of the groove 26 but is retained in engagement with the shoulder27, it is manifest that the stud 25 will be held against removal from the spindle 17 but also thatthe'stud25 may be rotated relative to the spindle l7 and, therefore, the type holder 2d may be arranged in various angular positions with respect to the axes of the work receiving table 15 and it is also apparent that after thetype holder 25 has been moved into these angular positions that the screw 28 may again be engagedwith the bottom of the j groove 26 to lock the stud 25 against further movement. r I
' It is manifest from the foregoing description that we have provided an arrangement for associating a type holder or the like with a spindle which will permit expeditious-re- JDOVELl'Of the type holder. from the spindle and one which will also permit the type f holder or the like to be disposed in various angular positions'wit-h respect to the spindle.
While we have illustrated and described the preferred form of constructionfor carrying our invention into effect, this is capable of variation and 'modification, without departing from the spirit of the invention. We, therefore, do not wish to .be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but
desire to avail ourselves of such variations a stud projecting therefrom having a groove in the periphery thereof, said stud being disposed in said recess, and means carried by said spindle for extension into said groove to. retain said stud in said recess.

In combination with a spindle having a recess in one end thereof, a type holder, a stud extending from said type holder having a V groove in the periphery thereof, said stud being disposed in said recess, and a. screw carried by. said grooveto retain said stud in said recess while permitting rotative movement of said stud relative to said spindle, said screw being engaged by the bottom of said groove to secure for exten ion into said groove to retain said stud in said recess, said means being adapted for simultaneously preventing longitudinal movement oi said stud from said recess While permitting said stud to berotated relative to said spindle.
