In an extension table having a support for the top, avertically movable top and means for guiding the same, and extension leaves slidable horizontally onthe support, of a plate carried by one of the leaves and having a horizontal track withan inclined slot extending downwardly'v and forwardly therefro-in, an auxiliary plate slidable at one side of the aforesaid plate and having a track portion and slot corresponding with the track and slot of the-first mentioned plate and adapted to register therewith, anarm depending from the table top to rest on the tracks and enter the slotswlien they are in line with each other, and means operated' by' the arm to move the auxiliary plate for closing the slots and form continuations of the horizontal tracks at the upper-'ends of said f slots.
