These jaws are mounted to slide in the casing. -The jaws are actuated by finger levers in compressing the tube and are retracted by a spring. A cut-off valve is mounted at the end of the casing to close the outlet andis operated by the jaw actuating mechanism to open the out-' let at the beginning of the jaw closing or squeezing movement and a spring returns the cut-off valve to its closed position when the jaws are released. The jaws are fed downwardly by gravity after each squeezing operation.

A spring 26 tends to hold thefmeinber 21 inposition to close'th'e outlet from theneck '12. When the bars 19 are operated tomovelthejaws 16"and compressthetube' the shoulder 25' presses against the lug o'r tailpiece 23 and opens. the valve to allow thecontents of the tube-tobe exuded. When thebar's 19 are released a spring 26 spring pressed valve co-actingwith the outvalve 30 is pivoted at 31 and its rearend 32 extends into the bottom of the casing where it is engaged bythe spring 33 which yieldingly holds it in the closed position. The lever 34 is interposed between the upper end 32v of the valve lever and the shoulder 35 on the pivoted bar 36 so that when the front edge of the bar 36 is moved toward the axis of the casing the lever 34 will be tiltet and will retract the valve 30. When the bar 19 is re leased the spring 33 will return the valve'3O to the'closed position. It should be understood that various other changes may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of'rny invention.
I claim: 7
1. A tube press, comprisin acasing having side walls with guide anges and an outlet, a slide guided in said casing by said walls and flanges, jaws pivoted to saidslide, operating bars pivoted in the upper and lower ends of the casing and engaging said jaws, externally accessible op'erating'means open said-.valve and spring means for retracting saidjaws and closing said valve.
5. A tube press comprising a casing havingarecess with an outlet and a clamp screw for supporting a compressible tube, a slide guided in the casing, tube compressing jaws hinged to said slide and movable therewith, manually operable swinging bars for operating said jaws hinged to the casing and projecting forwardly to engage the jaws and a valve for the outlet actuated with said jaws.

and manually operablemeans for moving said jaws to compress a tube and open said valve and a spring for retracting said jaws.
