PATENT FFIGE.
SEBASTIAN, SOHMITTNER, on NEW YORK, Y.
lMPROVEMENT IN 'SPbOL-CABINETS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 1 79,087, dated dune 20, 1876; application filed January 29, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SEBASTIAN SGHMITT- NER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Spool-Gabinet, of which the following is a specification In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a front view of my improved spoolcabinet, and Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section of the same on the line a c, Fig. 1.
Similar letters ofreference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention relates to an improved cabinet t'or the exhibition and storage of spools of all kinds, so that they may be more advantageously seen and taken out; and the invention consists of a number of spool trays, arranged in a case with an arc-shaped glass front that swings into opened and closed position in guide-grooves of the same.
In the drawing, A represents a case of suitable dimensions, which is arranged with top and bottom drawers and a number of horizontally-sliding trays, B, on which a number of spools are placed and retained by partitions, strips, and concave indentations, or in any other suitable manner. The trays B move in guide grooves or strips a at the side of the case, and are drawn out by means of buttons, rings, or other devices I) at the front part of the trays. The trays are inclosed within the case by means of an arc-shaped glass front, 0, that is somewhat larger than-aquadrant of a circle, and guided in corresponding. guide- .groovesd at the sides of the case, which or closed position, as shown in Fig. 2. The
trays are larger in size at the lower part, and diminish toward the upper part of the guidegrooves to be always within the space inclosed by the sliding front and allow the unobstructed swinging of the same. The glass front exhibits more fully the spools than the cabinets at present in use, and is less expensive in con strnction. out by opening the glass front and drawing out the, drawer, the cabinet forming an elegant and very convenient device for the exhibition and storage of a large number of spools. e
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- V A spool-cabinet, consisting of a'case with sliding spool-trays and an arc-shaped movable glass front sliding in guidegrooves ot' the case, substantially in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
PAUL GoEPEL, T. B. MOSHER.
