IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINATION-LOCKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 178,964, dated June 2U, 1876; application filed February21,1s16. i
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS MCC. SEATON, ot' Parsons, Labette county, Kansas, have invented a new and Improved Combination- Lock, of which the following is a specification:
The invention consists in making` the tumblers of a lock with points that work -in slot ot' bolt, and causing the disk-knob to slide in a slot of the plate.

A is the plate of the lock; B, the bolt; C, the circular openingl in which the tumblers D D and E work, said tuinblers being' attached to a knob-spindle, F, for each one. The tuniblers D are constructed at one side of' the joint to correspond with the circumference of' the circular opening C, and on' the opposite side have a tongue or projection, G, corresponding to a notch, H, in the bolt. Tunlloler E is a disk exactly fitting the circular opening` C, and having a notch, I, corresponding to the stud J, projecting from the lock-plate,
and the bolt has a notch, K, for saidl stud. The projections G must be set to coincide with the notches H. and notch I with stud J, to allow the bolt to slide. The knob of disk E slides a slot, L, (dotted,) of plate A to throw the bolt. The dials connected to the knobs -show how to set the knobs, and by shifting vided With projections G, and the tumbler'E with notch I, all constructed and arranged substantially as and for th'e purpose specitied.
