, This invention relates generally to dancing figures, and has more particular reference to a novel automatic dancing figure for phonographs.
The invention has for an object the provision of a device of the class mentioned which is of simple durable construction, desirable and efficient in action, and which can be manufactured and sold at a reasonable cost.
The invention proposes the use of a circular cover adapted for engaging upon the record carrying disc of a phonograph, and provided with edge projections engaging as the record carrying disc turns, against a spring pressed lever arranged for transmitting a periodic blow against a vibratable member in contact with the feet of a sus pended figure for moving them. to simulate .lancing. The figure may be that of a man or a woman and has joints at the thighs, knees and ankles and at the arms for simultaneously dancing as it receives vibrations from the said vibration member.

' An abutting lever 34 is hingedly mounted on' the end 33 and has a projecting stop 35 limiting its motion to a horizontal position, anda spring 36furges the lever 34 into this position; The spring 36 is of the tension type acts between the end83 and the lever 34. In operation of the device, the lever 24 is moved-Lba'ck and forth byreason of the expansionspring and the projections 15 on the cover sides 14, during the rotation of the disc 12. Themotion is transmitted to the pin 28 which moves to rock the arm 31. On the upward motion of the arm end 33, the abutting lever 34 strikes the board 17 for setting up vibrations to vibrate the feet of the figure depending from the rod portion 19, and simulating a dancing figure. On the downstroke of the arm end 33, the abutting lever idles past the board 17 due to its turning about its hinge and against the action 1 of the spring 36.
