IMPRVEMENT IN LAMP-BURNERS.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 178,602, dated June 13, 1876;' application tiled Apri14, 1376.
To all Iwho-m it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES CURZON, of Darien, in the county ot' Fairfield, and State, ot' Connecticut, have invented a new and Improved Lamp-Burner, of which the following 'is a specification: y
the construction is simplitied, and the wicks work better and evener; and the invention also consists ot' a secondary bottom to the burner for screwing into the lamp-top, in order that that bottom from which tubes rise may be made broader than the hole in the lamp for receiving the bottom will allow, and be tween these two bottoms I propose to apply a packing ot' cork or other non-conducting material to protect the lamp from the heat.

' Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The wick-tubes made straight and radial to a common center and operated by ratchetbars crossing each other to act upon the wicks iu pairs, as shown and described, to avoid twist in wick and tube, which causes the for-v mer to smoke. y
2. The combination, with a series ot' wicktubes arranged in crossing planes, ot' a secondary bottom, D, ot' Vthe lamp-top, larger than the bottom E, which screws into the lamp, substantially as specilied.
