The present invention relates to a combination window and screen and has for its prime object to provide a structure of this nature which is simple, easy to operate, strong and durable, not likely to easily become out of order, thoroughly eflicient and reliable in use, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other ob- `jects in view as will appear as the descrip- -tion proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of arts as will be hereinafter more fully descri ed and claimed.

' Referring to the drawing indetail it will be seen that the numeral 5 denotes a window frame including a sill atthe bottom thereof as at 6. A center plate 7 is mounted on the sill 5 and has a longitudinal risingsection 8 withvdownwardly and outwardly sloping sides. Central sash 9 is provided with transparent panels 10 and is pivotall'y mounted by means of bolts 11 slidable'in casings 12 having slots 14'with offsets 15 to receive lugs 16. These bolts, of course, are mounted vat the centers of the upper and lowerportions of the center sash 9 to be received in openings 17 in the plate 7 and the top of the frame.
On the sloping sides of the projections 8 are weather strips 18. The bottom of the sash 9 is constmlcted with projections 19 is an enlarged detail section tak to engage the weather strips 18 as clearly illustrated in Figure 4 and is free to swing in one direction only which would be counter clockwise referring to Figure 3.
' Rail plates 20 are mounted on the sill 6 55. jin spaced parallelism with the side edges of the plate 7 one to each side thereofv and guides 21 are mounted on the sill in spaced relation to the outer side edges of the rail plates 20.
The side sashes 22 have rollers 23 mounted 60 in their lower edges, suitable pockets 24 being formed for this purpose and' these'rollers 23 ride on the rail 20.
Ribs 25 are formed on the lower edges ot'Y the sashes 2O and ride in spaces between the 05 I 'plate 7, the plates 20 and the guides 21 as is clearly 'illustrated in Fi gure 4. The upper edges of the sashes 20 are slidlable in the upper portion of the frame5 in any suitable manner.
Each side sash 22 is formed in vtwo sections A and B, section A having transparent panels 30 mounted therein while section B has a screen mounted therein comprising a sheet of screening 31 in a frame 22 held in the section B bymeans o srews 33.
The vertical -rib 34 of the side frame is shaped to cooperate with a member 35 in the adjacent side of the frame 5. The member 35 has weather strips 36 and 37 thereon; rIrhe 'Y bar 34 engages to weather strip 37 while 80 weather. strip 36 is engaged by the outermostI bar 38 of the frame of the side sash which is shaped to have a thicker outer edge thereby forming surface 39 to engage the strip 36.
The side rails 'of the thinner sash have 85 weather strip 40 thereon which is to be engaged by the innerside rail of the sections A 'cf the side sashes. e

From the labove detailed description, it will be seen that this combination window and i screen structure has practically the same ap- V of personal injury. .The advantage of the screen features seem to be quite apparent without a detailed discussion. The present-embodiment ofthe invention, however, has been-described inconsiderable detail -merely for' the *purposes of exemplilication since in actual practice itattains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.
It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed 'or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. In astructure of the class described, a frame, a center sash mounted in the frame,
means for mounting-the center sash to swing on a Vertical axis equidistant from the sides thereof, side sashes slidably mounted in the frame` said means being detachable.
2. In a structure of the class described, a
frame, a' center sash mounted in the frame,
means for mounting the center sash to swing on a vertical axis equidistant from the sides thereof, side sashes slidably mounted 1n the e frame, each side-sash comprising an` inner section and an outer section, the inner sections having transparentepanels therein, and
t-he outer section having screens mounted therein.
3. In a structure ofthe class described, a frame, a` center' saslimounted in the frame, means for mountinfgthe center sash to swing -on a vertical axisequidistant from the sides frame, a center sashv mounted in the frame, means for mounting the center sash to swing on 'a vertical axis equidistant from the sides thereof, side sashes slidably mounted in the frame, each side sash comprising an inner section and an outer section, the inner sections having transparent panels therein, and the outer section havingv .screens mounted therein, said side sashes having pockets in the lower edges thereof, rollers mounted in the pockets and ridable on rail plates mounted on the sills of the frame, ribs extendin from the lower edges of the side sashes an straddling said rail plates.
5. Ina structure of the class described, a frame, a center sash mounted in the frame, means for mounting the center sash to swing on a vertical axis equidistant from the sides thereof, side sashes slidably mounted in the frame, each side sash comprising an inner section and anrouter section, the inner sections having transparent panels .mounted vmembers mounted on the sills to the outer sides of the rail plates.
6. In a structure of the class described, a
