IMPROVEMENT IN CHIMNEY-COWLS.

To all whom it may concern: I y
Be it knownvthat I, PHILIP J. DAMBAGH, of Shawnee, in the county of Perry, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Chimney-Cowl; and I do hereby declare that, the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figuresof reference marked thereon.

This invention has relation to chimney cowls and the nature of, my invention consists in a horizontally-ro'tating cowl, the base of which is composed of double walls, forming an annular recess for receiving the upperedge ot' the tubular stationary portion of the cowl and excluding water from .the interior thereof,

In the annexed drawings, A designates the cylindrical stationary portion of'myimproved chimney-ventilator, and .B is the horizontal rotating cowl having a rudder-vane, 0, on top arranged centrallyover an open in g from which the smoke escapes.
