This invention relates to the art ofconcrete construction, and more partlcularly to a device for holding a wooden nailing'strip,
or screed, in place during the pouring of the concrete, as in concrete floors, such device being commonly known as a-screed clip.

With screed clips as heretofore manufactured, it has been necessary to provide someindependent means for anchoring them in place. In the construction of this clip it is to be noted'that a filar bar of metal is used,-such as a wire or narrow strip as distinguished from a broad sheet or plate. The advantage of this construction is that the filar bars do not obstruct the flow of concrete around them and the difficulty of having vacant spaces in the finished slab due to' obstruction of the flow byparts of the clip is overcome. Also the narrow bar makes narrow toes 6 which are easily inserted into the meshes of metal lath and the like. i

A screed clip of filar bariron having base portions extending forwardly and rearwardly and formed of a portion of the bar bent back upon itself, a transverse support formed of the middle portion of the bar bent upwardly from'said base portions, and upright securing elements formed of the ends of the bar extending upwardly from said base portions and turned inwardly to form prongs to be imbedded in the screed.
